Just like any other sixteen year old, high school has it's problem but for Tullah, her problems don't begin and end at school instead they started and ended at home. Feeling terrorised by her step-dad and the lack of care her mother gives her,. Tull...
First of all thank you for taking your time to read this, I know it was quite a struggle especially since it took a toll on me, mentally.
Let me start off by saying, this is my therapy. This almost happened to me, almost word for word. For me, I struggled a lot in school and with things around my teens that I attempted to end my life countless times for three years. As of writing this (April 2022) I'm 11 years suicide free.
Looking back now, I'm glad I survived because I've been able to be so much more than my thoughts back then.
To anyone whose struggling, I know this sounds incredibly cliche but...
You don't deserve to suffer, you deserve to life. You deserve to blossom into a whole new human being; into who you truly want to be.
I know it's hard but don't let them get to you.
I know it's hard when you feel like all you've got is hell around you but trust me when I say, hell won't last.
What worked for me was finding something that broke my mental state, besides crying and attempts every night. I listened to music and I latched onto particular songs and particular musicians.
For me, listening to "I Gotta Get Outta Here by Alice Cooper" and being hooked by What part of dead don't you get? Uh, excuse me? What part of dead don't you get? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute
What part of dead don't you get? I'm sorry, are you talking to me? What part of dead don't you get? Hey, I signed on for a nightmare
What part of dead don't you get? Really, I mean, that's a little twisted, don't you think? What part of dead don't you get? I, don't, I, I, hey, whoa
What part of dead don't you get? I get it, but, but I don't get it What part of dead don't you get? I'm sinking here, hello? Yeah, yeah, yeah
This part of his song saved me, I latched onto the "Hey, I signed on for a nightmare." and twisted it into my own meaning. Sure, I didn't exactly sign up for life but i'm going to make the most of it. I also latched onto "What part of dead don't you get?" I grew up with several people who were buried due to suicide, so I had seen firsthand (at quite a young age) the effects it had on people, so that sentence was interpreted into my own meaning.
Please know you aren't alone, you are far from it. There are genuine people who would love to see you thrive and show the world what your capable off.
