"Hi, I am A-Alphys, the royal scientist. I'm not that important...." Alphys was shy, and her voice quiet.
Undyne lectured her, "You are too important, Alphys!" Alphys blushed after that sweet comment from her girlfriend.
"AND I AM PAPYRUS! THE BEST PASTA MAKER, PUZZLE SOLVER, AND BEST FRIEND TO EVERYONE IN THE UNDERGROUND! NYEH HEH HEH!" Papyrus spoke louder than the rest, having him sound confident.
The conversation distracted me from the pain as Toriel healed my wounds. I lean to the left slightly on the bed, seeing Frisk silent in the corner. "And you are?" My face forms a sweet smile in hopes of hearing Frisk's voice for the first time. I always loved how the game provides the Player with hints about the character's voices through the bleeping text, but Frisk never had any, which intrigued me.
"I'm...Frisk." They softly spoke out in a small child-like voice.
"Nice to meet you, Frisk." Nice to meet all of you, for that matter." It was strange that they never asked me my name. It was for the best to keep my name hidden from the rest. I was just fine with them calling me human or child or player. They only needed to know that I was a friend, not a foe.
Toriel asked, "Are you trying to go home as well, my child? You can venture along with us through the barrier if you would like?"
"Thanks for the offer, but I need to find a different way home."
Undyne shouted out, "What do you mean by that? The only way back to your kind is through that magical barrier that just got destroyed!"
Sans made sure to give me a stern stare down before I spoke what was in my mind. "Leaving through the shattered barrier with you all won't bring me home." Looking down at my hands, I start twiddling my thumbs.
Everyone looked puzzled, wanting more answers, until Alphys explained, "W-what the human is trying to say is that their home is....farther away from where we are g-going."
My eyes scanned over to Alphys, nodding my head rapidly. Alphys seems to know that I'm a Player? Maybe Sans secretly told her? Regardless, that was a clever way to put it, and I was thankful she stepped in to finish my sentence. Toriel ended her healing magic, seeing my shoulder was good as new. "Thanks, Toriel!" I exercised my healed left arm. Her magic removed the scarring on the shoulder left by the attack.
"You are very welcome, my child." She stood up, backing away to stand next to the group of her friends. "So, how will you be able to go home, then?" The goat mom asks as she grabs hold of Frisk's hand when they snuck over to her.
Before I could rebuttal, Flowey suddenly pokes my back and, with his spiky vines, presents me with the key he took from Frisk, placing it into my cupped hand. I gripped the key and asked a request, "Sorry to cut the conversation short, but...could I uh... speak to Sans and Alphys in private, please?"
Papyrus laughs, NYEH HEH HEH, SECRETS? YOU SHOULD NOT KEEP SECRETS FROM THE GREAT PAPYRUS!"
Sans joked, "We're just gonna Ketchup on things." He displayed a ketchup bottle from under his hoodie and showed it off. His eye socket winked afterward.
"SANS!" Papyrus shouted in anger, stomping the ground from his brother's bad pun.
"It won't take long...." Sans replied in a more serious tone.
Toriel nods, understanding Sans's orders. "Come along, Frisk." Before she steps out of the room, she gives Asgore a mean glare to follow behind. All you hear is a cough from Asgore as he walks out of the room right after Toriel and Frisk.
Papyrus and Undyne both looked puzzled and annoyed. Undyne was the first to speak up, "I don't understand why we can't hear what the kid has to say!"
"YEAH! WE ARE ALL FRIENDS HERE!" Papyrus shouted right after.
