Chapter 19

I kept reading for a little while longer until I heard (y/n) down the hall.

"Dan?" She was calling me.
"Oh- uh, I'm in here!" I answered her and quickly shut my laptop.

I stood up and turned around to find (y/n) in the doorway. She walked over and stood on her toes to kiss me. I smiled down at her.

"Hey, shorty."
"Fuck off." She laughed and I kissed her again.

Dan had a few things to do on his laptop, so I went downstairs to get breakfast. I guess at some point I had started to eat more, mostly to stop Dan from worrying. My eating habits still weren't the best, but I was trying.

I grabbed the new box of Lucky Charms from the cupboard and poured some into the bowl, then went to go meet Phil in the lounge.

"Morning, (y/n). Would you like some cereal with your marshmallows?" Phil laughed, looking at my bowl as I sat down. It was filled with pretty much only the marshmallows from the box.

"So I'm in a marshmallowy mood. Don't judge me." I smiled over at him while dropping some in my mouth.

"So you're okay?" Phil asked me.
"Yeah, I'm sorry for kinda freaking out yesterday." I looked down and stirred my spoon in my bowl.

"Don't be sorry. I'm always here if you need to talk, alright?" He smiled and placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Thank you, Philly." I smiled widely back at him.

Me and Phil continued talking while munching on our (not so) cereal, and we heard Dan coming down the stairs. He must've went into the kitchen.

He was silent for a minute before he yelled out to us.
"Can someone please explain to me why there are no marshmallows in the Lucky Charms?"
Phil and I couldn't hold in our laughter.

After Dan had gotten a different kind of cereal, he joined us on the couch. We all talked instead of watching television, for once.

"How's Nathan doing, (y/n)?" Dan asked me while drinking a spoonful of milk.

"Oh, he's good! He really wants to meet you. You too Phil." I scooped the last bit of cereal onto my spoon.

"Really? Even me?" Phil sounded surprised.
"Yeah. He used to watch your guys's videos with me all the time, so he's a pretty big fan of yours." I replied.
"That's pretty cool. We should go meet him one day!" Phil cheerfully said.

"That'd be awesome! He also kinda flipped out when I told him I was dating Dan." I turned and smiled at him.
Dan laughed. "I'm not that special."

"You are to me." I leaned over and kissed his cheek.
Phil chimed in. "Awwwhhhh (y/n)! That was so cute!" Phil started fangirling like a little girl.
"Tch, shut up Phil." Dan smirked and I laughed.

We spent the rest of that day playing video games and watching netflix, pretty much a normal day for us. When we finally realized what time it was, Phil had fallen asleep on the couch, and Dan had to literally sit on Phil to wake him up. Once he finally did, Phil lazily made his way up the stairs with me and Dan following behind him.

People say that everything gets better with time. Obviously that saying didn't apply to me.

The nightmares about Jacob didn't stop. In fact, they kept getting worse.

My nights mostly consisted of sleeping for a few hours, then waking up in terror from the dreams. I was so paranoid about him that I didn't leave the apartment for a week.

Dan, of course, stayed by my side the whole time. I kind of hated him for it, I didn't want to be the reason for him not having a social life. But he insisted that he wasn't leaving me, and I didn't complain.

Dan and I were cuddled up on the couch together watching Doctor Who. Phil had gone out with Chris and PJ, and would be back sometime later.

"Dan, let's go out."
He looked over at me. "What? Are you sure? "
"Yeah, I'm tired of being afraid all the time. I hate being stuck in this apartment, and I hate that I'm making you suffer with me. Let's just go." I sat up and grabbed his hand, pulling him up with me. He smiled down at me and squeezed my hand for reassurance.

After we had both gotten dressed and ready, we left the apartment. It was nearly four pm.

"Ah, so this is what sunlight is." Dan took a deep breath in and stretched his arms out. I laughed and poked his side.
"You're such an idiot." I said, and he smiled.

"So what do you want to do?" I locked my fingers together with his and we continued walking down the street.
"Hmm... how about we go meet up with Phil, Chris and PJ? I'm sure they'd be fine with it." Dan suggested.

"Sure! I haven't seen them in a while."
Dan reached into his pocket and dialed Phil's number into his phone.

After a bit of talking, Dan hung up and put his phone away.
"They said it was fine! Let's go." Dan led the way.

I guess the three of them were at a bar/restaurant place just about to get some food. We got there at the perfect time.

When we got there we saw Phil frantically waving at us from a booth across the room. We walked over to them.

"Hey guys!" I smiled at the three of them while I was still holding Dans hand.
"(Y/n), looking as lovely as ever." PJ leaned over the table and looked at me. Dan looked over at him.
"Very funny, get your own girlfriend to flirt with, peej." Dan smiled and sat on the bench beside Phil, and pulled me down beside him.

We were all talking and laughing, just enjoying eachothers company. One of the waitresses was even flirting with Phil. We were having a lot of fun, I almost forgot about Jacob. Until that feeling came back. The knot in my stomach.

I started looking around the room for something that would cause this.

'Why does this keep happening? Ugh, I wish this feeling would go away....'

"(Y/nnnnn)?"
I turned back to the table and saw everyone was looking at me.

"Are you alright?" Chris asked me.
"Hmm? Oh yeah, I'm fine. Sorry about that." I replied while picking up a fry and popping it in my mouth. They all smiled and continued talking.

'Ugh.. embarassing...'

Dan put his hand on my thigh and looked at me.

"You sure you're okay?" He whispered to me.
"I'm sure, don't worry." I smiled, then leaned over and kissed his lips.

"Hey, no PDA at the table please." PJ pointed at us and scowled.
Dan looked at him then kissed my cheek to spite him. Everyone laughed, including PJ.

We stayed in the restaurant for hours, having fun together. I was glad we went out that day, it was much better than staying inside.
