Deruth took a bite from Violan, and felt there was something other than cake taste.
"Do you wash your hands when you decorate the cake?"
Cale and Basen nodded while Lily nodded hesitantly.
Deruth knew where that strange taste was coming from now.
Deruth only let out a short breath as he gently stroked Lily's head.
"Next time wash your hands before doing anything related to food. It's not healthy."
Lily nodded guiltily.
"And as for the destroyed kitchen..."
The three of them gasped when they heard that.
"Who came up with this idea?"
Cale pointed at Basen, then Basen pointed at Lily and Lily pointed at Cale when she was pointed.
Violan laughed when she saw that.
"So the three of you have to work to pay for the damage. The cost may be 300 million, but I'm giving a waiver because you're still kids. The three of you have to pay 10 million each."
The three of them were frightened by the number. Violan also frowned.
"Husband..."
"Your way to pay for it is easy. Every time you help one job at home, you get 1 million. After that, report to me, 10 things you did."Lily was excited while Cale and Basen looked lazy.
Violan smiled seeing her children receive a light sentence.
.
.
.
Deruth saw the report from the butler that he had to keep an eye on his children.
"Lily, your debt is paid. Good job."
Lily smiled hearing that, and Deruth gave her a kiss on the cheek as a gift.
"You can go now. Go play with mom."
Lily nodded and left.
After Lily left, Deruth looked at Cale and Basen.
"Should I send the two of you to boarding school?"
Both of them looked pale hearing that.
Basen breaks things when he tries to help, dissuading the servants from giving him work.
Cale was attacking the gardener with the shears when he was annoyed to hear that the gardener didn't stop complaining about his work. No one dared to hire Cale after that
"Basen, why don't you learn from your sister?"
Basen looked confused.
"Lily does a job she could easily do. She gives water to the gatekeepers, washes vegetables and many other easy things. Basen, what is the easiest for you to do and do you like doing?"
Basen suddenly felt enlightened.
"Father, do you have an easy job for me?"
Deruth smiled and handed over 10 documents that were easy for a 10 year old to complete.
"If you don't understand it, you can ask Ron."
Deruth was a bit surprised that Ron did such a good job when he was just a servant.
"If you make a mistake, I'll have you recreate it. But there's no emphasis. Take your time."
Basen smiled brightly as he walked out of Deruth's office.
"And as for you, what do you want me to do? You're still pretending to be trash, what can I do for you?"
Cale simply lowered his head. He was afraid to see Deruth's face. He was afraid that it would be a face full of disappointment like it used to be.
“Cale, I told you, I will protect this family. Why are you still doing this?”
Cale fiddled with his fingers looking dubious.
"Father, how great you have become, you can't keep a thousand mouths shut. I don't want them to be hurt from the words of other nobles."
Deruth stroked Cale's head gently.
"So you're okay with hearing that?"
Cale flinched just trying to dodge Deruth's gaze.
"I think I have an interesting task for you. Follow me."
Cale looked at Deruth in confusion as he followed him.
.
.
.
On top of the clock tower.
"Father, what are we going to do here!?"
Cale panicked as he hugged the roof of the tower.
Deruth smiled looking at the frightened Cale.
“Stealing and bankrupting the people who cursed us. Cale, I read, no one can oppress the Henituse family. So, why would they want to oppress us? They are unforgivable. Cale, sometimes, following your heart, is the best choice."
Both of them were wearing black clothes and masks as well as using a hair color changing magic tool.
"But are we going to do it in broad daylight!?"
Deruth smiled, pushing Cale down from the clock tower.
"Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrgggg!!! I hate you dad!!!"
Deruth also jumped down from the clock tower.
