9 - Summer festival

I want it.

You and Karma spent a good 20 minutes at the booth until he made a comment.

"Hey Pops, we've spent $40 combined on this game the past 20 minutes. Now by probability, there's a 0.3% chance of winning this next round. We either get a prize next round or I'll report you of false advertisement," Karma argued while pointing out his math on a notepad.

"Fine, fine, I'll give you a refund," the man said.

"Ah ah ah, that won't do it, sir. I'm here to get that (f/animal) for my girlfriend here," Karma said while pointing to the stuffed figure.

You eventually walked away with a stuffed (f/animal) in one hand and Karma's hand in the other.

"You sure are persistent, Karma," you giggled.

"Anything for you," he said with a soft smile.

Karma looked down at his phone. 9:58PM.

"Y/n! Fireworks are supposed to start in two minutes, follow me. I found a good spot earlier," Karma said, pulling your hand one direction.

You and Karma quickly escaped the crowd and ended up in front of a stone structure. A couple of blankets were already laid out. Karma climbed his way up then offered you a hand. His strong grasp pulled your body into his as the first firework exploded in the sky, catching the attention of both your eyes.

His arms wrapped around your body to prevent you from falling while yours rested on his chest. You were too distracted by the beauty to change position.

Your eyes lit up every time a firework made its way to the sky and burst.

Karma smiled while looking at you.

Cute.

"Hey, remember watching these as kids?"

"Mm..." you replied with hesitation."

The two of you continued watching the show like little kids.

"Y/n."

Karma tightened the embrace, which made you to shift your attention to his eyes.

"Can I kiss you?"

Without even answering, you wrapped your hands around his neck and lifted your head centimeters away from his. Your lips met.

Warmth filled your body as you and Karma's kiss prolonged.

As the fireworks finale crept up, your lips separated from Karma's. The blasts from the show were too loud for you to hear Karma's next words.

"I love you."

You and Karma got on the train and sat in the back again, leaning on each other tiredly.

Before falling asleep, you plugged in one of your earphones. Karma noticed your actions and let you do so before relaxing on his shoulder.

I wonder what she's listening to.

After letting you fall asleep, Karma carefully turns on your phone.

Karma quietly laughed thinking it was a joke. He then took one of your earbuds and plugged it into his ear.

'Ever since the escape of test subject 222, scientists have shifted their focus on ways to prevent another crescent moon catastrophe. In todays report, they have shown no successful data of this phenome-'

The podcast stopped playing.

You disconnected the earbuds from your phone quietly and went back to sleeping on Karma's shoulder.

That's odd. I guess I can ask her about it another time.

Karma's pov

By the time we reached my stop, it was 11:26PM.

"Y/n, you can stay at my place tonight. It's late," I offered. I figured it's safer for her anyways rather than taking the train past midnight.

"Ogey," she quietly replied, holding my arm sleepily.

After walking for about 5 minutes, we arrived at my house.

"Are your parents home?" y/n asked.

"No, they usually aren't home. Business trips," I replied. "Are yours gonna be worri-" I stopped myself there. I can't believe I forgot.

"It's okay Karma. And thank you for letting me stay. We can keep each other company," she said with a light smile.

To think we live similar lives.

After closing the door, I take off my shoes and head to the kitchen. "Y/n, would you like anything to drink?"

No reply.

I walk around the corner to find her sleeping on the couch.

"Come on y/n, let's at least get you changed into comfortable clothes for the night," I said, carrying her up the stairs. She wrapped her arms around me and kissed my cheek. The girl is lucky I didn't drop her from shock.

I left her in the bathroom while I grab some shorts and a shirt.

Cracking open the door, I threw the clothes on the counter. "Here, put these on then you can sleep again."

After a few minutes, Y/n walked out the bathroom and wrapped her arms around me. I carried her to my bedroom and carefully placed her on the mattress before wrapping a blanket around her.

She snuggled into the blanket cutely.

"Goodnight, Karma. Thank you for everything," she said and dozed off.

I quietly placed a kiss on her forehead.

Then I whipped out my phone and took a selfie.

"Ehehehehe."

After the photo shoot, I brought out my futon and a blanket from the closet and slid it next to my bed. I crawled on and checked my phone to see a couple messages.

I looked through the photos to see y/n and I. Damn we're cute.

There were a few pictures of us on the train, playing games, and watching the fireworks. There was one picture taken of us kissing under the bright lights. 

I look over the bed to see her still snuggling the blanket. She wore the bracelet on her left wrist today-? Odd.

After my observation, I ended up falling asleep. I'm such a lucky guy.
