What if he thinks I'm a monster.

You looked out the window to observe the stars beauty, sparkling in the emptiness.

After some time, you finally found the balls to speak up.

"Karma, I'm sorry."

He looked at you, but you still didn't make eye contact. The rest of the class was listening in on the conversation, still unaware of the details of the situation.

"You probably think I'm some sort of monster or weird creature, and I'm so sorry for just causing trouble all the time," you apologized.

"Y/n."

"I should've just not come back! Cuz now everyone's suffered because of me. You, Koro-sensei, everyone in the class... you all didn't deserve this."

Karma wiped your tears and turned your chin to face him.

"Y/n. No matter how you look or what you are deep inside, I'll still love you forever. Even if you forget, I'll remind you everyday because you mean so much to me. And I still owe you that promise."

Karma held your left wrist, caressing the fate written on it.

"I'll be by your side until death parts us."

Karma held your hands with bandaged one, letting tears fall in between the two of you.

"Karma, I'm scared. I don't want to die."

"We'll process this information, there's got to be a way to save you," Karma insisted.

"Yeah!"

"Mhm."

"You got this y/n!"

The rest of Class 3-E cheered for you, now understanding what was happening.

"Thanks everyone, can you give us some time alone, if you don't mind?" you requested.

The speakers went silent.

"Karma, I can't thank you enough for being with me this whole time. It's been... scary. Not knowing what could happen next," you said quietly. "Now that I know I only have 29 days left, it's kind of hard to keep my composure, you know?"

You started sobbing.

"I don't want to die, Karma. I don't want to lose you too."

Karma smacked your arm. "Idiot, I'm not going anywhere without you. I'll protect you at all costs. Even if it means I die too."

His words were somewhat comforting to hear. Maybe it was just his presence being there that made you feel better.

"Ritsu, are we almost back?" you asked, trying to move on from the conversation.

"Yes, y/n! Please strap in again as we will be re-entering the atmosphere in less than one minute!"

-

You and Karma returned to Earth in the Koro-sensei tentacle-made pool by your classroom.

Everyone greeted you with mixed feelings. Happiness. Sorrow. Regret.

"Come on everyone! No time to waste, let's decipher the information!" Okuda insisted, anxious to create another mix of chemicals.

You and everyone else head to the classroom, surrounding Ritsu's machine that was decoding the information. Soon, hundreds of green text lines appeared on her screen with high leveled vocabulary.

"So... what's it all mean?" Terasaka said.

"Okuda, can you translate for the dummies in the room?" Karma asked, pointing to Terasaka.

"Yes, Karma-kun! Let's see," Okuda said, pushing up her glasses. "The treatment they created has been found to be successful, but they only made and used that one. Hey, the chemical compounds are similar to ones I've made before!"

Everyone looked at you with grins and cheers. Karma leaned onto you with hope.

"Oh." Okuda continued. "It takes... a month to make it. Minimum."

The silence that filled the classroom created an awful environment. Not even the birds chirped.

"Um- I can start it today! Just, give me some time to process these, please," Okuda said, hurrying out of the classroom and into an empty room next door.

Everyone eventually filed their way out of the room to give you some time. Except Karma of course.

You just stared at the board. The one you've been learning from for 336 days.

You walked up to the board, picking up the chalk with a shaky hand. You slowly wrote.

'29 days left'

After writing the last letter, you threw the chalk at the board, disintegrating it into dust. Your knees gave out as you cried on the floor. Karma rushed over to comfort you but kept his distance due to the last interaction he had with a crying y/n.

-

"Ritsu, can you send me all the information you have on y/n please," Karasuma said.

"Yes, sensei!"

As Ritsu uploaded the information onto a hard drive, Karasuma returned to his office seat, arms crossed.

For 336 days, she's been sitting in front of me. The government's target, test subject 222. Your life will come to an end.
