Wanda picked it up and looked at it out of curiosity when Peter came back into the room. "Enjoying the Lego Sideous?" he asked.
"The Lego who now?" Wanda asked, turning around to face Peter.
"Sideous. You know, Darth Sideous, evil emperor of the galaxy?" Peter elaborated. When Wanda shook her head, Peter's face grew in shock. "Wait.....have you ever seen Star Wars before?" he asked.
"What's Star Wars?" Wanda asked.
'Oh lord help us now.' Peter thought to himself as he put on a mortified expression.
"I'm sorry Wanda but we can't be friends anymore, now get out." he said, pointing to the door. Wanda cracked up at his statement. Peter tried to hold his disappointed face, but he broke character and started laughing with her. "But anyways, back to what we were talking about beforehand."
"Right. Well now, I realize that I shouldn't let the fear of loss dictate what I choose to do with my relationships with people. I just have to appreciate them while I still have them." Wanda elaborated.
Something in that statement hit Peter hard. The fear of loss. For that is the same type of fear that caused him to allow his friend and ex-girlfriend forget about him. But of course he was in a bit of different situation that she was explaining.....but does it still make what he did right?
"Yeah, I see what you mean." Peter said. "I have similar fear of that too. So I get it." He saw a look of sympathy come on Wanda's face in response. But before she could say anything, Peter asked, "So what were you doing on the streets? It looked like you've been through hell and back again. And why are your fingers black?"
Wanda looked down at her black fingers and sighed as she took a seat onto the couch. Peter then sat right next to her, knowing very well, based on her reaction that this was gonna be a long story.
"Well......in order to explain that, I'll have to first explain what has happened since the Thanos incident." Wanda said.
"I'm all ears." Peter said.
"Okay....So you know that Thanos got all of the infinity stones right?" she asked.
"Yes." Peter said.
"Well.....one of them was attached to Vision. The man that I loved." Wanda explained. "I had to blow a hole through him in order to destroy the stone, and it destroyed him in the process. But it all meant nothing as Thanos used the time stone to bring him back and take the stone, killing him once again."
"Aw man." Peter said shaking his head. That's a horrific thing to witness. He was already feeling sympathetic towards Wanda.
"Yes." Wanda said, shaking her head. "And then after I was brought back from the five years and after we had Tony's funeral........I went to a little town called Westview. Vision and I were planning to go there and to get married one day. But he was gone, and I was still grieving his loss. So I......" Wanda trailed off.
"You what?" Peter asked after a few seconds of silence.
"I may have created a hex that kinda took the whole town hostage, and created a world where Vision was alive." Wanda said.
"You what?! Wow! You must be really powerful! But the hostage thing....." Peter said full of surprise.
"I know. I know. I had to learn to let go. To accept that Vision is dead. And that my kids weren't real." Wanda said.
"You had kids?" Peter asked.
"Yeah." Wanda said with a small smile. "Twin boys named Billy and Tommy. Both had their own powers. Billy had powers like mine, while Tommy had his uncle's powers of super speed. They were my everything."
