A bright future for us

"Well, Hatsu," he turned towards it. "you can go back to your people. It looks like you came here for nothing."
"Incorrect." Miku, attached to your shoulder by a harness, said. "During those two years, we have learned. Many things that were unknown to our kind. And we have returned the favor with our technology and expertise. Leaving this planet...Leaving these people, would not be exciting."
"Aww~!" you placed a hand on your heart. "You like us?"
"...Correct. Hatsu."
The two devices then let out a long sound, as if to communicate in another language. You figured Miku was trying to convince his friend to stay and didn't want you guys to hear. You tapped Senku's shoulder to make him look at you. You then nodded towards the two devices and touched the tips of your indexes together, with a look that said 'do you think they're...?' Senku sighed, shaking his head.

"Stop seeing romance everywhere." he whispered.
"I can't help it," you whispered back. "I love romance."
"Decision reached." Hatsu said. "I will stay and pursue the progress of humanity together."
"Kukuku~! It's true that we may not travel in time." Senku smirked. "But as long as humanity is standing, it will always progress forward into the future! There will always be something exciting on the horizon!"

"That's what I'm talking about!" you picked up Hatsu and kissed it. "Thank you for staying! We're happy you're here!"
It made a weird robotic screech.
"Woah! What was that?"
"...I love you (Y/n)." it said in Senku's voice.
You gasped.
"Hey! What gives?!" Senku took it from you and glared at it. "I don't care if you guys learn about emotions, don't use my voice to say that stuff! Only I can say that!"
You gasped louder.
"Say it then!"
"...Aren't we late for the wedding?"
"Shit you're right! Come on, we gotta get ready You look like shit by the way."
"I haven't slept for the past week."
"Okay, take a nap first, and *then* we'll go!" you took his hand and you both walked out.

Senku smiled. But then it faded when he finally took a good look at Miku.
"Are those...rabbit ears?"
"Yes!" your face lit up. "Yuzuriha made me this harness, I took the opportunity to ask for tiny rabbit ears on the capsule."
"According to multiple sources, I am now: 'cute'."
"You sure are!" you kissed it.
Senku snickered.
"Hatsu, do you want rabbit ears too?"
"Declining strongly."
"Thank you." Senku nodded, gesturing towards it. "Now I recognize my lab partner."
"Also..." you leaned closer, speaking quietly. "that one scientist who looks just like you?" you smiled widely. "I knew you'd look handsome as a girl."
"(Y/n)." he rubbed the bridge of his nose.
You laughed. In the end, the nap Senku took lasted the entire day, so the wedding happened without him. But fortunately, other people couldn't attend, so Taiju and Yuzuriha decided to extend their wedding by another few days.

Despite being the second day of the wedding, it was still a lively day full of joy. Everyone was there, though Gen was still running late. Your parents even attended, since they've recently been revived. Which led to an awkward conversation when they met Ryusui.
"So~ when will your turn be, am I right?" your dad laughed.
"Dad!" you blushed while Ryu laughed too. "We're not together!"
"Although I wish we were!"
"Don't encourage them!" you hit Ryu, to which he just laughed again.
"Oh my gosh," your mom smiled. "you are *so* *cute* together. Such a cute couple you'd make."
"I already have a boyfriend! We've been together for eight years now!"
Your parents gasped.
"Who?!" they both leaned closer.
"Senku."
"..."
"Ishigami Senku."
They looked at each-other.
"The science boy?!"
"Science *man* now!" Chrome exclaimed, having overheard your conversation.

He stepped in and started giving them a crash-course on everything Senku did, to make them understand they're underestimating him and science. You sighed, thankful for his intervention, and sneakily left the scene. You sat to your and Senku's table, he was cackling.
"Don't make me make you meet my parents!"
"Do that, and I'll finish the time machine, go back in time and stop myself from saying yes to you."
You burst out laughing. The other guests took their seat and the food came in. But before eating, as maid of honor, you stood up and gave a speech to the newly wed couple, telling them how much you value their friendship, congratulating them on their relationship, you might have cried a little bit too. Once you were done, you bowed, under the cheers of the crowd, and went back to your seat.
