"Hey, Soos?" I called. He hummed in response.

"What will be your reaction if I am going home today?" I asked.

"Do you want to go to the shack first?"

"No, I mean going home to my hometown."

"Wait, are you serious?" I looked at him sadly and nodded.

"Then, why didn't you tell us before?" He asked. I became speechless.

"What? Is this true? You're going away too?" I stopped and turned around. Mabel croaked heartbreakingly. I thought I was ready for this, but I was wrong.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I didn't tell you earlier because you're already having a rough day and I don't want to add... It pains me to return there today, but my mom's been insisting and forcing me to go home because summer's almost over. B-But, don't worry. I'll come back to attend your birthday party." She just looked at me with tears in her eyes.

"Soos, let's just go home."

We all entered Soos' pickup truck. She's still looking down.

"Hey, you know, to cheer you up a little. I made a little scrapbook full of our memories together in Gravity Falls." I said to attempt to make her feel better.

"Really? Thank you." She smiled a little.

"So, what time does your bus leave?" Mabel asked.

"Before the sundown." I said.

"That's in 2 hours. Have you prepared your things?" She asked.

"Actually, I haven't, I really don't want to go, to be honest." I sighed.

"Well, stay here."

"Sorry, I can't. It's just I need to go back and do my unfinished business there." Don't worry, Mabel, I'll come back, after doing my job. I just want to ensure everyone's safety and not let that thing happen. I looked out the window as the birch trees filled the scenery.

Moments later, we reached the shack. Uncle Stan was surprised when I told him that I need to return home today. He was trying to convince me to stay for a few days, but I told him that I'll come back on the twin's birthday. I swear, I saw him cry a little.

Mabel and Soos decided to help me pack my things. While we were packing, I kept asking if Mabel was okay. She answered that she's fine, but I know that it wasn't true.

"Hey, Mabel, don't worry, I'll try to convince Mom to come back earlier, okay? Promise, I'll make up to you. Anyway, here," I handed the bag to her.

"Please, don't open it here. I might get emotional."

"So, this is a goodbye?" Mabel asked.

"No, it's see you soon." I answered. We group-hugged together.

"Also, Soos, thank you for being my friend."

"Anytime." He smiled.

"Are you sure that you're on your own? You don't want any help?" Uncle Stan asked.

"Of course, I insist. I can do it myself." I responded.

"And, please be there for Mabel for me. She's having a rough day today." I whispered to him. He looked at me and nodded.

Moments and maybe tears later, I left the Shack. I am on my way when Dipper saw me.

"You're leaving?"

"Suprise, haha." I said. I am aware that since the revelation thing, our interaction is always awkward.

"Why?"
