The Aging Potion

"I don't hate the club. It's just the fact that you lead it is what makes it unbearable." I said.

"I don't know what your trying to do L/n but I'll figure it out soon. And when I do, you'll regret even trying to mess with me." he said with a growl and turned to walk away as I looked at him.

"yeah, yeah we'll see about that." I said mostly to myself.

I turned away and walked in a hidden passage to go to the room of requirements. The potion was ready and I was supposed to meet Remus today for the testing. The next full moon was in a few days and I had to make sure the potion was completely fine.

I hissed feeling a sharp rock scratching my arm as I rubbed it lightly to ease the pain. When I walked out of the passage I turned around looking carefully to make sure no one was following me.

When I reached the Room of Requirements, Remus was already waiting there fidgeting in his place holding on tightly to his satchel.

I sighed, this was a lot harder on him then it was on me. I had to be more confident about it. I took a deep breath and walked towards him tapping him lightly on his shoulder and he jumped a little turning around.

"oh, its you!" he said and I gave him a small smile.

"who else would it be?" I said and started pacing in front of the wall to open the doors.

We both walked in and Remus sighed. "Sirius and James have started questioning the disappearance. They think I have a secret girlfriend or something. I bewitched the map to show I'm near the black lake. Whenever they would walk next to me i would be a few steps ahead of them. I was just worried they would follow me here." he said and we both sat down in front of the low boiling cauldron.

Blue smoke flew softly above the cauldron and a distinct smell came from the potion. I turned off the flame and waited for the potion to cool before filling it in a flask.

He looked at me as I handed him the flask.

"what does it smell like?" I asked as he brought the flask closer to his nose to take a big whiff.

"smells like... Rotten blood. But it's just faint." he said making a face of disgust at the potion which was still releasing the bright blue fumes.

"its perfect. The potion smells nothing to me but you are able to smell blood. How long till the full moon again?" I asked and started filling more flasks.

"a week." he said corking up the filled bottles and I smiled.

"well, that's just perfect then. Drink it." I said pointing to the flask still in his hands and he took a deep breath drinking it all in a gulp before coughing loudly.

"that was disgusting." he said looking at the empty flask and I looked at him.

"it is supposed to be like that. It'll help, trust me. Now, you just have to drink it everyday till full moon. Also make sure you don't add anything else to it or it can be hazardous." he nodded putting the several flasks in his satchel not before making sure they were tightly closed and won't leak.

We both sat in silence as he collected everything and settled down again.

"thank you so much, Y/n. You don't know how much it means to me." he said and I sighed.

"you can stop thanking. I already told you I'm doing this because of my own greed." I said and he laughed lightly before turning to look at me.

"I really want to do something for you though. Is there anything you need help with?" he asked and I pondered on a second before looking at him.

"I have something. I just don't know if its gonna work." I said.

"what is it?"

"remember, I told you I was given an aging potion so I don't age when I am back in my time. I was wondering if I could make more of those." ï said and he looked at me shocked.

"wait, if we actually do that you can bring us back in time." he said and I nodded.

"yeah, but I can't actually miss any more meetings from the DA club. And I can't borrow more ingredients from professor slughorn. He would start questioning things." I said slumping back down again.

"I can do it. I can get the ingredients and make the potion. I mean I'm not the best at it but I can work well with instructions." he said and I smiled.

"are you sure?"

"yeah."

"alright." I said. "but after the full moon. I want to see how the potion works out for you first."

"alright." he said and we both got up ready to go back to our respective common rooms before the marauders figure out they have been trying to follow a fake Remus all along.

Now we just had to wait.
