'Peter was right. It does help.' Wanda thought to herself with a smile.
"Is that a smile I see?" said a voice behind her. Wanda turned to look. Norrie was standing there with a plate of food in her hands and a wide smile on her face.
"Norrie!" Wanda said with glee. "You're out of the hospital!"
"Finally." Norrie said with an eye roll.
"How are you holding up?" Wanda asked.
"I'm doing well. Had a bit of a scare, but the doctors said that I should be good to go." Norrie said. But her face got a little more serious. "Although, I have to admit that I have a new fear of lizards now."
"Lizards?" Wanda asked. She thought it best to play along like she doesn't know what she's talking about.
"Yes. A giant lizard attacked me! Now every time I see a lizard I'm gonna get shivers down my spine." Norrie said.
"What?! That's terrible Norrie! I'm sorry you went through that." Wanda said, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"It's alright." Norrie said. Then the smile reemerged on her face. "Now based on the fact that you were smiling before, I'd say you are in a much better mood than the last time that we spoke. Does this have anything to do with Peter?"
Wanda closed her eyes but smiled a little bit and nodded her head. "Yeah. I followed your advice. You told me not to let the fear of loss stop me from making new relationships with others. Peter and I are friends now." she said.
"Good girl." Norrie said, nodding her head with approval. At that moment, Wanda's phone buzzed and she looked to see that she had one missed call from Peter.
"Speaking of Peter, he just tried to call me a little bit ago." Wanda said.
"Oh, well I won't keep you from him any longer." Norrie said. "And if you ever want any more advice, you know where to find me."
"Thank you Norrie." Wanda said with a grin, before going into an empty room to listen to Peter's voicemail.
"Hey Wanda. Listen up, I think I have a lead on where the Lizard may be. Reports say he was last seen near Harlem. I'm just calling to warn you. Stay away from the area. Don't want to risk you getting hurt. I know you can take care of yourself but.........I just don't wanna take any chances. I'll meet up with you later. And this is Peter by the way.......Parker."
Wanda almost giggled at the last sentence. It was cute that he tried to make it clear that it was him calling her. But the fact that he's going to potentially fight the lizard alone made fear well up inside of her. She has already lost everyone she has ever cared about, she was not gonna let it happen once more now that Peter's in her life.
She knew he said he wanted her to stay away, but if this lizard is as bad as the one Peter told her about, he's probably gonna need backup. She'll just keep her distance until it seems Peter was in trouble, and then she'll intervene. She then looked around to see if anyone was nearby and then used her powers to teleport to Peter's apartment. She went to his room to see if the cure was still there. It wasn't. So he already beat her to it.
Taking off her gloves, she used her powers to change into her Scarlet Witch attire. She then teleported outside of the building and started flying in the direction of Harlem in search of Spider-Man, or the lizard.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spider-Man swung for what felt like an eternity, with both his camera and the cure in his string bag behind him. He searched all over Harlem, but he could not find a single trace of the lizard anywhere. He then swung to the top of a building and went into deep thought.
