Kunikida began, "well-"

Sasaki suddenly interrupted him, "not to mention you were very kind in putting me up last night."

"Huh?"

Atsushi asked, "where did you stay exactly?"

Before Sasaki could answer, Dazai grinned and pointed at himself as he declared, "my place."

"WHAT!?"

You couldn't help but feel more pain soaring through your heart. The only word you could use to describe it was jealousy.

"That's correct," Sasaki confirmed with a sly look in Dazai's direction. "I am deeply indebted to him for that."

Dazai smiled once more as he chuckled, "what can I say?"

Meanwhile, Atsushi and Kunikida were freaking out. Atsushi stuttered, "a-are you sure that's not breaking professional conduct?"

"I'm done with this case," you mumbled, starting to walk out of the room. This caused Kunikida and Atsushi to stop shivering and Dazai to look in your direction. You sighed and thought, I'm done with caring as well.

"(Y/N)-," Atsushi began, reaching his hand out to you. But it was too late to get you to come back in, you were already out of the door. The mood in the room changed to a more gloomy one as you left.

"What's wrong?" Dazai asked, puzzled. "Was it something I said?" Something told everyone in that room that he knew exactly what he was doing and exactly how he was making you feel.

Despite this, Kunikida still looked down at Dazai and responded, "there's no way you haven't noticed yet. You have what others would kill to have, so you better make sure you stop acting so heartless and oblivious." Only now was it clear to the other three people what the emotion burning in the blond male's eyes was: pure jealousy.

While they discussed the reason behind your sudden disappearance, you walked outside of the agency and took out the cigarette Chuuya had given you. Later can be now, you decided as you placed the cigarette in your mouth, getting out a lighter you kept for emergency situations in your pocket. You lit the cigarette on fire.

Only one intake of breath sent you into a coughing fit, causing you to take it out. Others started staring at you until they noticed what you had in your hands. Despite the effects it had on you, you continued to draw in more of the smoke as a desperate attempt to relieve all of your stress.

Three coughing fits later, you started feeling sick. Although it made your stomach and lungs feel terrible, you bent down and started coughing again. Suddenly a voice cut through your coughing fit. "(Y/N)! Are you okay?"

You glanced up to see the man who had gifted you the cigarette, now looking at you with the most concerned expression on his face. He had a bouquet in his hands, and his blue eyes widened as he took in your coughing form.

"Yeah," you replied, "I'm just getting a smoke." You then tried to act cool by putting the cigarette back in your mouth. Although you were determined, you still started coughing again. Your lungs felt like they were on fire.

"Hey," Chuuya gasped, "is that the cigarette I gave you a couple days back?" He started mentally beating himself up. He didn't take into consideration the pain of smoking for the first time when he gave it to you, and to be honest he was half-drunk at the time.

You wheezed, "you finally figured that out?" You then started coughing again before sighing, "actually I don't think I can finish this. I'm starting to feel sick."
