The patrons of the Hazbin Hotel were throwing a party in celebration of successfully gaining more staff and more guests.
Alastor was drinking a glass of champagne, in the reflection of his glass, he could see Angel Dust flirting with one of the hotel guests.
He drank the rest of his champagne, then set the glass down and walked toward the two.
"Hello gentlemen! You two seem to be getting along well!" he greeted with his ever so present smile, leaning his arm against the chair the demon was sitting in.
"Discussing the path to redemption, I'm sure! We wouldn't want anything to jeopardize that~" his smile made the demon sitting in the chair uncomfortable, to make the situation more uncomfortable, Alastor poked his cheek.
The demon stood up quickly. "I uh... I gotta go"
Angel huffed and crossed his arms. "Thanks a lot, Al! I almost sealed the deal, now I have to start all over"
"Oh dear, what a tragedy" Alastor said sarcastically.
For the rest of the night, every time Angel tried to flirt with another demon, Alastor would intervene and make the demons uncomfortable.
Angel finally had enough. "You!" he glared at Alastor.
"Moi?~" Alastor asked nonchalantly, pointing to himself.
"We need to talk. Come here" Angel grabbed Alastor's wrist and dragged him into an empty room.
"My goodness. As long as nothing untoward happens" Alastor followed Angel into the room, his calm and collected smile never fading.
Angel backed Alastor against the wall, jabbing an accusing finger into his chest. "What the hell is your problem? Are you jealous of me flirting around or something?" he asked, clearly angry.
The truth is, Alastor was in fact jealous, but he didn't want to admit it.
He smirked and lowered Angel's hand from his chest. "Jealous? Me, jealous? Ha! Don't make me laugh, Angel. Why would I ever be jealous or even care about what you do? I simply didn't want any of the guests to catch anything and lodge a complaint"
Angel crossed his arms. "You are jealous, aren't you? You're jealous of the fact that people like me instead of running away scared" he said bitterly.
Alastor wasn't fazed at all. "Like? Ha! You do realize those demons are just using you as an irritating means to an end. There's a difference between being wanted and being used. You are neither wanted or needed"
Angel bit down on his bottom lip, that hurt way more than necessary. "You... You think I don't know that? You think I don't know exactly where I stand? You must think I'm stupid! I've been here for over 70 years! Almost as long as you. Most of us weren't dropped down here with crazy, magical God powers! I had to scrape, and crawl, and beg my way to where I am today! And if that bothers you, then I don't really care!" he yelled, trying to fight the tears in his eyes.
Alastor frowned slightly. "Angel..." he hadn't meant to make Angel so upset.
"If you want to laugh at me, then laugh! I know, I'm a riot! What a disaster!" Angel was now crying, tears streaming down his face as he spoke.
Alastor stayed silent, watching as Angel stomped out of the room and slammed the door behind him.
He realized that he went too far with his words and truly upset Angel.
