Mending Morality

Chapter 16

'Okay, so maybe she'll be fine.' he thought. But he still wanted to get back to her as soon as possible.

"Alright, I'm on my way now." Spider-Man said.

"Meet me in my office at ESU." Connors said, before hanging up.

This should be exciting.

Scarlet Witch rolled out of the way from a blast of purple energy sent by Agatha. She sent a bunch of debris in the direction of Agatha in response. She knew she couldn't sent bursts of her magic to her, because she would just absorb the power. So she had to improvise a bit.

Agatha swerved around the pieces of debris and landed gracefully onto the ground. And then she gave a malevolent smile before she suddenly teleported out of sight.

Scarlet Witch looked around for any sightings of her. And then she saw her standing right behind her, and sent a piece of scaffolding to her. It hit her in the head and she fell to the ground. But as she advanced on her, Agatha suddenly disappeared into thin air again.

"You know, the one thing that irked the Wanda in my universe the most..........was losing those she loved the most." Agatha said, once again appearing behind her. Scarlet Witch lifted her up with her powers and then slammed her back down to the ground with great force. Agatha then disappeared again.

"And I can sense that is the same for you too." Agatha said. Scarlet Witch sent her flying into a nearby table with construction gear littered on top of it. Again, she vanishes from sight.

'What is happening here?!' Scarlet Witch thought to herself as she looked around. What kind of mind games was Agatha pulling on her now?

"And I sense that you have a connected with a certain someone here as well. How about I introduce myself to your little spider friend who saved you yesterday?" Agatha said once again, this time from her left side.

Scarlet Witch turned to her with her hands glowing red. Digesting the threat that Agatha just made towards Peter, pure rage filled all throughout her. Her eyes narrowed so much that they had resembled slits than actual eyes, and the energy in her hands emitted an even brighter light than it normally does. She had made a big mistake, and she was gonna ensure she paid for it. Agatha continued to smile deviously in her direction once she saw the reaction that she wanted to see from Scarlet Witch.

"Oh I'll bet he's handsome in person." she added.

Scarlet Witch had heard enough. She sent a piece of cinder block at Agatha's stomach, and then sent her through a pillar, which knocked her out.

Or so it seemed.

"You have lost this battle Wanda." Agatha said from behind her.

Scarlet Witch  turned around to see that Agatha was hovering in mid air, with a smug smirk still on her face.

"What are you talking about?! I just pulverized you four times. You haven't landed a single blow!" she exclaimed.

"No......but you have." Agatha said. Scarlet Witch looked at Agatha confused. "Look around you. Look at what you have done." she added, motioning for her to turn around. Scarlet Witch did just as she said.

Much to her shock and utter horror, there were four unconscious construction workers laying on the ground. They were in the exact same position each of the four Agathas were. And what's more is that there were other construction workers in the area, currently hiding from her, with looks of fear on their faces.

'Did I just harm those four construction workers?' she thought to herself.

Scarlet Witch took a step back as the scene slowly made sense to her. This exactly what she was afraid of happening. This is what she did before when she was corrupted by the Darkhold. She inflicted pain onto others. And now, despite all the work she has put in to make up for that, she has done that again. And the looks of fear on the workers' faces only made the situation worse. Those were the exact same looks of fear she received from her two boys in the other universe. And those looks reminded her that she was the person that everyone feared. If she even was a hero at all.
