"Separate it? With that?" Spider-Man asked, pointing to the cannon.
"It's a sonic cannon. While I was doing some research on it, a loud alarm came up on my phone as a reminder for my vitamins. The noise caused the piece of the suit you gave me to act crazy. Right then and there, I knew that loud noises, or sonic waves are its weakness. This for sure will separate you from the symbiote." Connors explained.
'Not an option.' the voice in his head said.
Spider-Man had just about enough. This thing did feel good and gave him immense power. But it has done more harm than good to him and with him. He's been much more aggressive, he's become short-tempered, he's gotten more bitter, he's even been short with Wanda.
'You're still thinking about her?! Give it a rest. She's not worth it.' the voice said.
'That's it!' Spider-Man said in his head.
"Let's do it!" he said to Connors. Connors nodded, and got the machine ready.
'NO!' the voice in his head said. Then a piece of the suit started to morph into an odd shape. Then Spider-Man realized it was turning into a giant hand and was heading straight for the machine.
"Oh no you don't." Spider-Man said, moving himself in a different direction in an attempt to keep the symbiote from destroying the cannon. "Is it ready?!" Spider-Man called out.
"Yes. Just hold still." Connors said, and Spider-Man did just that. The suit reached out for the cannon again, but Connors managed to fire the weapon just before it reached it.
Spider-Man cried out in pain as he could feel the suit squirming in pain. Weird noises were being made from the symbiote as it recoiled from the cannon's sonic rays. Soon enough, the suit started to peel off of Spider-Man's body before it eventually fell to the floor. Connors, already had a special container set up and was standing by the webbed hero and scooped up the symbiote into it before it had a chance to crawl away or bond with Spider-Man again.
"Got it!" Connors said with a smile. "You're safe now......Hey....it's you." he added once he saw that Spider-Man was now in his casuals and without a mask. "You're that boy I met on the streets a little while ago."
Peter slowly stood up, extremely uncomfortable at the moment. "Uh......hi." he sheepishly said.
"Don't worry. Your secret is safe with me Mr........." he trailed off.
"Parker. Peter Parker." Peter said.
"Alright, Peter Parker. Well.....you're free now." Connors said.
Peter had to stop for a moment and look at the black goo squirming around in the closed container. He had to wonder if this was what Peter two was talking about when he fought that alien made out of black goo. It might have been, but it doesn't matter now. He smiled to himself as he looked down. There was not other presence in his head. He was starting to feel like his old self.
He was free.
"Thank you Doctor Connors, sir." Peter said.
"You're welcome." Connors said with a smile. "I guess we're even now." Peter grinned once more, before he got his sling bag on his back and started opening it. He had one more person to look out for after all. Good thing he always carried his own Spider-Man suit in the bag in case he lost the last one.
"That can never be let out into the world again." Spider-Man said, once he got his suit on. He then pointed to the black goo still struggling to break free from its container.
"Agreed." Connors said. "I'll make sure no one else takes it."
"Good." Spider-Man said. "You take care Dr. Connors."
"You too......Spider-Man." Connors said with a smile. Spider-Man then took off out of the window and straight back to the construction site as fast as he could.
Once he got there though, there was no sign of Wanda, or Agatha. All that were present were a few construction workers talking with each other. Spider-Man landed right in front of the group, which scared the heck out of them, but he paid that no mind at all.
"Spider-Man?!" one of them asked.
"Did you guys see where the Scarlet Witch went to?" he asked. Normally he would pull a joke out to lighten the mood. But this involved the whereabouts of the woman he loves, so there was no time for jokes.
"Scarlet Witch?" one of them asked. "She teleported out of here. Thank god too."
"Thank god? What's that supposed to mean?" Spider-Man asked in an upset and protective tone. Some of the workers took a step back in fear.
"Well she knocked out four of our men earlier. We didn't want to be next." the construction worker said.
Spider-Man then took off, realizing that she had left. So there was a chance that she was alive. He'll have to ask her about the four workers later on, but for now it was more important that he finds her.
Wherever that may be.
He then pulled out his phone and called Wanda. No answer. Panic started to rise up in Spider-Man as he was running out of alternatives. If she was still fighting Agatha, he needed to know where she was.
'Think Parker, think.' he said to himself. 'How can I possibly find a way to track her down?'
And then the light bulb came on in his brain. Wong. He can track her!
"Off to the Sanctum then." Spider-Man said, making a beeline for the Sanctum Sanctorum. He was gonna do anything and everything to bring Wanda back, whatever the cost.
And maybe......just maybe.......he'll finally reveal his feelings for her.
