You didn't have much time to think on that though, as the Twili whisked you over to a vanity made entirely of onyx, except for the mirror. You sat down, facing away from the mirror, as she retrieved a brush made of jade from a drawer and began to run it meticulously through your hair until it was a soft and gleaming, all your fly-aways tamed. She proceeded to tuck your luxurious hair into a stylish updo, leaving a few curly strands to frame your face.
When that was done with, she toted over a heavy bag from a corner of the room and plopped it down in front of you. She wet a washcloth in a basin and wiped your face clean of any dirt or grime before getting to work on your extensive makeup. After what seemed like hours of this woman smearing strange creams on your face, brushing your eyelashes, and painting your eyelids with some kind of powder.
Finally, she deemed you were finally ready for your apparent coronation.
You decided to give a mirrored wall a glance out of curiosity, and gasped at what you saw. You were beautiful. Your skin appeared flawless, not the slightest blemish in sight. Your (__e/c__) eyes seemed to practically glow. Your eyelashes were like butterflies delicately batting their wings as you blinked in astonishment.
"Do you like it, my lady?" the Twili servant asked timidly. You paused for a moment, afraid to give her your true answer. Beautiful, though you may have looked, you felt positively wretched inside. How could you feel any other way given your circumstances? After a few moments, you finally whispered,
"I've never felt so... elegant before," You half-lied. The servant's face lit up with a relieved smile. You didn't want to tell her the truth that you felt like a sacrifice being presented like a lamb for slaughter, being offered up on a platter to her monstrous demon king.
"I'm so pleased to hear that, madam. I tried my very hardest on your dress."
"You made this?" you asked, astonished. She simply nodded in confirmation.
"I'm sorry, I don't believe I asked for your name." The Twili woman seemed taken aback by your polite, friendly nature, especially given the natures of your appearance here in the castle. Besides, servants were never treated so fairly even under regular circumstances. She hesitated a moment before replying,
"Finri."
"That's a beautiful name," you smiled softly. "My name's __f/n__."
"Oh I know your name, my lady. You are all his Highness has talked about for quite sometime now, in fact." she informed you nonchalantly.
"Wh-what?" you stuttered, returning once again to your frightened state.
"Are you quite done in there yet, my blossom? I'm afraid I am growing impatient." The dry, raspy voice outside the door called out to you before Finri could tell you more. You met eyes with the Twili and she threw you an apologetic glance before opening the door to the room.
"My work is complete, your highness." She said with a deep bow.
Zant's eyes morphed to a nearly purple color as his eyes hungrily raked over your entire body, marveling at how enticing you looked in that dress.
"My gem, you look absolutely ravishing," he praised as he closed the distance between you two, leaning right into your ear "Why, if it were not for the coronation, I'm quite sure I'd have to lock you in our quarters and simply ravage you." he nibbled your earlobe flirtatiously before pulling away and returning to his dutiful persona.
"No matter! That will all happen in due time!" he chirped cheerfully. You felt tears pricking your eyes at his declaration. Mangled sobs threatened to escape your throat as Zant led you throughout the corridors, but you refused to let your tears fall from your eyes. I will remain strong.
"Ready, my prize?" Zant asked as he swung open a door to reveal a marble balcony overlooking a crowd of thousands of less-than-enthusiastic Twili citizens buzzing quietly in conversation.
"My loyal subjects!" Zant's voice boomed, immediately silencing the entire crowd.
"The coronation ceremony will now begin!" He then proceeded to recite a few ceremonious verses unto you, before 'ritualistically' planting lingering kisses on both of your cheeks. Finally, with a puff of smoke, an onyx crown encrusted with sapphires, emeralds, and jade appeared in his pasty palms. He paused for a moment before a flash of genius struck him. He waved a clammy hand over the crown, which enshrouded it in a glittering red glow. He chuckled gleefully to himself before muttering to you,
"I don't think you'll need to fret over your little fairy boy anymore, dear." he informed you. "Also, I'm looking forward to enjoying your passionate, undying love for me!" he added obnoxiously. You glared daggers at him incredulously.
"What the hell makes you think I will ever-" Without waiting to hear another word out of your mouth, he placed the decorated crown upon your head and your eyes glued shut. After a few moments, your eyelids slid back up to reveal not your usual, endearing (__e/c__) hues, but glowing, illuminating crimson irises.
"Now what is it, my queen, that you shall give to me?" Zant purred quietly, a knowing, evil smile stretching across his dastardly face.
"My passionate, undying love, of course, my king." You echoed obediently with a faint smile.
"Good girl~"
