"I'm going to ask him today." Beomgyu said, a grin creeping up to his face making Yeonjun laugh even harder but in delight this time.
"I'm proud of you and I know he is too. I can't wait for his response." He said, with a smile.
After that night 4 months ago, Taehyun had convinced Beomgyu to seek out a therapist, who carefully helped him deal with his grief and trauma. Taehyun attended a lot of sessions with him whenever he felt like the world was collapsing on him again and always helped him through his anxiety episodes, always reassuring him and holding his hand.
Beomgyu had never been more grateful. He had gotten scarily lucky to meet Taehyun. The boy's smile would light up his world and make his entire week better. He didn't just like Taehyun anymore, he was in love with the younger.
He had progressively and visibly started to get better. His friends had noticed the change in his energy too, and were all proud of him. It would take time for sure, but he really was healing.
Over the course of these months, he'd gotten even closer to Taehyun, often spending nights with him. They started holding hands more frequently and visited the park they'd gone to on their first date too, finding comfort in the shade, surrounded by petals. Their inside jokes, flirty comebacks, cuddles and everything else had become a solace for both.
Beomgyu found himself smiling more and more each day without it feeling forced anymore. His head no longer felt as heavy as it used to due to his overwhelming thoughts. He began looking forward to each day instead of dreading them.
It was new years in a few hours and he had decided, he was going to start the next one by making Taehyun his own.
His everything.
He smiled as he ran up the staircase to meet up with Taehyun, who was already there, listening to music on his phone, turning around and greeting Beomgyu with a big hug nuzzling his face into his neck.
"Look, the sky is turning red. It's blushing for me Taehyunnie." Beomgyu said, looking up with a laugh, making the latter giggle too.
"I don't blame it to be honest." Taehyun said, smiling, slightly pulling away from Beomgyu, still keeping his arms around his neck.
"What kind of weird disney romance scene are we re-enacting right now?" Beomgyu asked, pressing their foreheads together, making the other giggle.
The sky darkened, the moonlight beginning to highlight part of Taehyun's face making Beomgyu stare at him in awe.
"Isn't the moon so beautiful?"
Beomgyu smiled.
"Taehyunnie, it's almost new years. We have just 4 more hours for this mess of a year to end."
"This year sure has been eventful, but to be honest, if I could undo it, I wouldn't." he responded, playing with Beomgyu's hair or rather his new obsession.
The latter laughed, leaning into Taehyun's touch. "Me neither."
After a few minutes, Beomgyu finally looked at Taehyun, the moonlight falling on both of them, making their eyes sparkle.
"Kang Taehyun, I think it's time we stop being friends." Beomgyu said, sitting up straight, locking eyes with him.
Taehyun's eyes widened before he burst out laughing.
"Gyu that's the worst possible way to ask me out." He said, throwing his arms around Beomgyu's neck, pulling him close.
"Hey, atleast it made you laugh." Beomgyu replied, locking his arms around Taehyun's waist.
"But you didn't answer me Taehyun."
The blonde, pulled back from the hug and without warning, pressed his lips to Beomgyu's, one hand clutching his back, surprising him.
"Was that enough of an answer for you?" He said pulling away.
Beomgyu grinned.
"It will be, if you do that again."
Taehyun pulled him in once again, this time deepening the kiss, as Beomgyu's hands around his waist tightened.
The spent the next couple of hours laughing like drunk teenagers, and couldn't seem to get enough of each other's lips anytime soon.
As the final ten seconds of the year began rolling around, Beomgyu turned to face his now, boyfriend.
"So Taehyunnie, what were you thankful for this year?" He asked, interlacing his fingers with Taehyun's making the latter smile.
As the last second came up, fireworks exploded into the sky, brightening it completely with beautiful colours, as Taehyun spoke up.
"The boy at the bus stop."
