Chapter 3: Legacies Reborn

Drake and I circle the cage once again. No more words are exchanged; our willpower will do the rest of the talking.

Drake swings his leg in the air for another roundhouse kick and I attempt to block it with my left arm. I overcompensated and raised my shoulder to his strike, allowing a full-force strike against it. Pain jolts throughout my left shoulder and chest as my arm falls numb.

"Fuck!"

I attempt to grab my shoulder to possibly pop it back into its socket, but Drake takes advantage of the weak point and strikes my shoulder again. The pain strikes through once more, and I almost fall to my knees. My center of gravity is lowered long enough for me to shift my weight and deliver a strike to Drake's ribs. He recoils from the attack but I'm unable to drive in quickly to take advantage. My body is wearing down quickly!

Drake holds his side as he glares at me. His cheek is still dripping blood onto the floor, bruises visible already throughout his body. He enters an aggressive stance while keeping his center of gravity high enough to spring at any moment; his arms ready for anything.

I find my own balance; my left arm completely numb from the previous attacks. Whatever Drake has to throw at me, I'm ready for it. I'm not going down without a fight!

He starts moving towards me, steadily encroaching upon my bubble of attack. Within the blink of an eye, he tosses out a jab, and I bat it away with my foot. Another punch, and once again I slam against it with my heel. I hear him growl as he begins to repeatedly toss punches at me with reckless abandon. I hold my arm up to guard, protecting my shoulder. It isn't enough, as a punch slips through and hits square in the middle of my rotator cuff. I muffle the pain, but I still see Drake smirk.

With one more punch, I swing out my leg in defense, only for it to be a feint attack. He grabs my foot, leaving me in an incredibly vulnerable position. Without a word, he raises his elbow to try and snap my leg in half.

I push through with that same leg, stomping it to the floor in time. Using that momentum I swing my body to the opposite side, delivering an explosive kick to Drake's gut. He tanks the hit, clutching his stomach as he coughs.

Drake pants heavily, clenching his fist as he charges at me, a primal roar being heard throughout the arena. I meet his energy in kind as I aim to strike through his offense and end this battle.

This is the last bit of strength I have! I plant my feet and roar alongside Drake, empowering my arm!

Only mere feet away, Drake closes in and swings his arm towards me one last time. I put every ounce of strength I have left into this punch, twisting with my entire body to meet his strike head-on. I connect with his jaw, but I wasn't able to weave my head around fast enough, and his fist connects as well. Within a split second, I watch Drake's eyes roll to the back of his head, and my vision blurs completely.

Chapter 3.5: Legacies Reborn Cont. (Misako POV)

That was such a risky maneuver, but it paid off! Drake and Cain both got flung to either side of the arena...it doesn't look like anyone is getting back up!

I turn over to the announcer's booth as his jaw drops. He fumbles with the microphone causing some static to be echoed, but he quickly composes himself.

"You've seen it here first...A DOUBLE KNOCKOUT! UNPRECEDENTED! A FITTING CONCLUSION TO THE FIRST MATCH OF THE RISING PHOENIX!"

Dad and I scream out, cheering with the rest of the crowd as paramedics flood the cage and pick up the two boys. Dad and I get up from our seats, walking towards the side of the cage where Cain is at. A stretcher makes its way out of the cage, and Dad and I walk beside it. Cain's eyes open slowly, reacting to the bright lights the paramedics shine in his face.
