Chp 20 - A King's Fury

Once his attack was over, Kris ordered Y/N to talk with the King. "Your son Lancer, what he says is true. We just want to talk and no one gets hurt! He's amazing and you have to trust us that we haven't harmed or abandoned anyone!" Y/N persuaded. Kris narrowed their eyes, a glimmer of hope shining within their heart. The King looked thoughtful. 'Did she get through him..?'

Y/N's POV:

"You speak lies! Nonsense! I will squash you all and make you all learn your place here," The King shouted. Y/N frowned at his answer. As much as she didn't want to fight the Spade King, it looks like there was no changing his mind now. Fighting was now the only chance.

Y/N's will changed. Talk became Miracle Worker. She may now raise attack and speed and strike powerful attacks than before, and heal one person to full health. "Begone! We have found fresh purpose!" The King ordered the Heroes. Y/N's soul went onto the battle field. Inside a spiked box which was also in another box. Her soul was in the middle and started moving with the spiked box as it went on one direction. But once it changed direction, it caught Y/N off guard and got hit by the spikes wall, groaning faintly from the pain. It was hard to get used to but she managed to survive the attack. She let out a breath of relief.

King's mouths babble indecipherably. His cape flapping through the air.  "We must fight!" Susie growled. "I don't know Susie, maybe.." Ralsei said with doubt but in a loss of words. "I think Susie might be right..we have to fight," Y/N said, filled with determination. "Then it's decided." Kris spoke next to Y/N. "Finally," Susie groaned, relieved. "Alright," Ralsei finally agreed. Kris ordered Susie to use Red Buster. While they committed the others to attack. Kris's Soul shined its power on Susie.

Her axe flaming with power until she jumped and swung her axe, which blowed a powerful attack to the King. The King growled in pain, but still wore that evil smile. Y/N slashed her dagger fiercely towards the King, and Ralsei attacking with his scarf. Y/N questioned how Ralsei's pink scarf was a weapon and could cause damaged, but she knew before not to question how things worked weirdly in this world. "For the Knight has appeared," The King continued his monologue. Once again, everyone's soul went to the battlefield once again. The King threw this weapon that came from his stomach, connecting with the box again. He started swinging it once again, catching the team off guard again, but not as much as before. As the spades came from out of nowhere, they still got hit, especially Ralsei. He was down, now only a pile of clothing. "Ralsei!" Y/N worriedly called out to him. But no response came. "You'll pay for that," Susie snarled to the King. The King only responded with a loud chuckle. The battlefield is rumbling.

Kris gazed at Ralsei's pile of clothes and gazed at Y/N, and behind those dark blue bangs, worried ruby eyes stared back to Y/N E/C ones. "Don't worry, he'll be fine," Kris reassured. Their calm voice settled Y/N's nervous heart. "Let me heal him, I have enough energy to do so," Y/N pressed. "Hey guys! I know you guys might have some sweet things to say with each other but do it another time!" Susie hurried. The King perked up at that..

Kris paused, and considered the options. They admired Y/N's compassion and persistence, and as much as they were protective of her, it was unfair to say or think that she couldn't take care of herself. Giving a brief and final nod to Y/N, she smiled and gave a peck on their cheek which caused them to fluster. Baffled, they could see Y/N smile courageously towards them. Focusing back, but with their heart still beating abnormally, Kris used Courage, their Soul renovating brightly. Kris encouraged the party! Defense was increased for the whole team. Unfortunately, Y/N didn't have enough TP to heal Ralsei fully, but she was able to cast Heal Prayer. Ralsei was back up to his feet! "Thank you, Y/N," Ralsei said with a relieved sigh. Once after her turn, Susie swung her axe to attack, which still a decent amount of damage to the King. "The Knight that pulls the Fountains from the Earth," The King kept rambling. Before they could attack, Kris secretly handed a DarkBurger to Y/N. She showed confusion at their action. "You're still hurt," Kris told her, a serious look of worry shining in their eyes. Y/N took the treat and munched on it. When she ate it, Kris knew she looked better. It soothed them down. "Thanks," Y/N smiled gratefully. Kris gave nod, their eyes betraying their thoughts.
