Bad Circumstances

"This is just the living room area. There are two separate rooms and a small kitchen, not much in it, plus a bathroom" I explained. "What's on the main floor?" Uncle asked me. "Oh, the big kitchen, dining room, living room, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, plus a reading room, gaming room and a balcony with a pool and hot tub" I said as they looked at me, surprised.

"Oh, we have a theater room as well and a laundry room, of course" I added. "Being here is under bad circumstances, but wow am I happy to be related to my brother" Uncle chuckled. "Can I live here forever?" Jisung gasped.

"Well I'll leave you both to it. I'll be downstairs if you need me" I said as I left the room and went downstairs. I picked my phone up and called Jay again.

The phone stopped ringing as I held the phone up to my ear and heard Jay's tired voice. "Hey, babe" He mumbled. "Sorry for hanging up earlier" I apologized and walked into my room before shutting the door.

"You're fine. You have important business to deal with, so I can wait for you" He chuckled, but still had a deep voice. "Did I wake you up? It's just so weird to be in such different time zones. I'm sorry, I should've texted to make sure. If you want I can call again when time is more convenient for you" I said as he gave a small laugh.

"Don't worry about it. Just call me whenever you need. I'll make sure I always wake up for you" He assured. "Now, seriously, I need my beauty sleep and can not waste another second" He said as I laughed. "Yeah, of course you do. I'll await your call tomorrow. I love you, a lot" I said.

"I love you too. I will call first thing tomorrow. Bye bye" He said before hanging up. I tossed my phone onto my bed and sat in my chair at my desk. My laptop was sitting on the same page I left it on yesterday. A fancam of Jay during I-Land's fire. What I watched right before we went to the debut showcase.

I closed the tab and scrolled through my saved uploads. So many videos from Japan, and I mean a lot. "Emily!" My Uncle shouted and came knocking on my door. "It is unlocked!" I shouted back as he came barging through. He was panicked, like really panicked.

"Uncle? What's wrong? Where's Jisung?" I started asking. "Your father, he just had a stroke. Your mom called" He said as I could feel my jaw drop. Why was all of this happening now? He was a spunky, billionaire not that long ago. Why was he having problems?

My Uncle gave me a hug as tears formed in my eyes. "They said it happened an hour ago. She was out getting food and came back to him surrounded by doctors. He hasn't woken up yet. Emily, your dad is going to recover slower than we originally thought. I'm sorry" He said and rubbed my arms up and down.

"Can we not see him today?" I asked and wiped my eyes. "I'm sorry. Your mother advises she just stays with him, okay? If he's feeling better tomorrow, then we'll go see him" He said in a calm voice. "I'll leave you to it" He mumbled and left my room, shutting the door behind him.

I wanted to call Jay. Talk with him. But, he was asleep. I can't call him while he's asleep. I had so many questions about everything. Was my dad having problems in Japan before taking his business trip to Seattle?

Jisung and my Uncle were able to convince me to come out of the penthouse and go on a walk around the city. Mainly because my Uncle wanted to get Starbucks.

"Order whatever you want, it's on me" my Uncle told me as I stepped up. "I'll take a Caramel frappe," I said in English before looking at the display case."Can I get a name please?" She asked. "Oh yeah, Emily" I quickly said as she nodded and wrote it on the cup

I wanted to ask if they still had the cookie. "Um, do you by any chance have a peanut butter cookie? I don't see it in the display" I asked as she nodded.

"Of course we do. I'll get that for you in a second" she smiled as I backed up and my Uncle ordered. I looked around. It changed from when I came here a long time ago. It was weird to be back, especially like this.

"Here's your cookie miss" I heard her say as I snapped back into my mind and grabbed the cookie. "Thank you" I said. I walked off and sat at a table while we waited for our drinks.

I just stared off into space while my Uncle and Jisung talked about stuff. Jisung was talking about Stray Kids, of course. I nibbled on my cookie every now and then, staring at some pictures on my phone.

Scrolling through every picture, until Seonghwa sent me a text.

How's Uncle Nam Kyu?

I don't know... My mom won't give us details. Also, shouldn't you be asleep?

I hadn't even noticed but my Uncle had brought my drink over. "Jisung. I think we'll take Emily back to the penthouse. Seems as if she needs to be alone for now" My uncle told him as Jisung nodded and took a sip of his drink.

I kept silent. Everyone was worried for my father. Especially for his businesses, because he has no one who can run them until I'm done with ENHYPEN. Which won't be anytime soon. So many people made posts for him. I got DM's of people's worries.

"Eun Ae" I heard my Uncle call as I looked up from the table. "Come on. Let's get you home quickly" He said as I nodded and got up from the chair. Jisung followed behind us as my Uncle wrapped his arm around me.

"Nicholas will be fine. Your dad is tough. I should know, I lived through his dramatic teenage years" he said, which made me kind of laugh. "You guys seem close for being half brothers" I said.

"Nicholas may be only half related to me, but the kid is still my brother. Also, last time we called he told me to tell you to make Jay back off" He said, and looked down at me.

I slightly laughed and sighed. "Dad needs to stay out of my relationships. Jay and I are perfect" I said as he laughed. "I've seen the kid. Jay, he's perfect for you. Plus, the son of a CEO as well. You guys are going to rule the world" He teased and lightly nudged me

He was trying to lighten the mood with me. See me smile. "Oh c'mon. Jay and I aren't that special. Just a normal couple" I said as he chuckled and looked back to make sure Jisung was behind us.

"You're a good kid, Emily. Your dad is lucky to have you as his daughter" He said. "He's lucky to have a brother like you. I was surprised when mom said you were coming down with Jisung" I said.

"Nicholas is my little brother, I need to be there for him. Jisung actually offered to come as well," He said before stopping in front of the building. "Jisung and I will be back in an hour or two. Why don't you try and get some rest and don't break anything" He said as he gave me a hug and then Jisung gave me one before they waved goodbye and walked off.

I walked into the building as the usual doorman said hello before I entered the elevator. Before anyone could get on, I quickly shut the doors and picked the top floor. I just scrolled on my phone until the elevator door opened.

I turned the corner and unlocked the door when I saw someone coming out of the penthouse in front of mine. "Oh my god! You're Emily Han!" I heard her gasp. I turned around and saw a fan girl.

"Sorry, not her" I quickly said in an accent and shut the door before she could say anything else. I locked it just in case, because I know Jisung will make it known when they arrive. The house was silent, and I hate silence.

"What music can I blast to clear my head?" I mumbled and scrolled through my phone as I found the speaker in the kitchen. I only really had playlists of Stray kids, Ateez, Seventeen and Tomorrow X Together.

"Twice, I'll play some Twice" I said and clicked randomize and the first song that came up was Cry For Me. "I'll just listen to Seventeen" I said and played their playlist. Yes, not a sad song first.

This place was a little dusty, so I guess I could clean it. I'm not an expert at cleaning, but I usually do it at the dorms because no one else will. I'm sure cleaning and jamming to Seventeen will get my mind off everything.

I just pray my Dad will be okay again.
