Chapter 32 - Total chaos

"Well... I –" I didn't know what to say. I was speechless.

"I gotta go, kid. I have a business meeting to attend to. Goodbye." And with that, the screen turned blank, signaling the end of the FaceTime. I slammed my laptop shut and stood up from the chair.

Whatever my dad was planning for him to talk to Aran about getting back the power of the empire can't be good at all. Fuck. Why can't I have normal problems?

The door to my office flung open and Aaliyah walked in. She was dressed in a black ripped jeans and a white cropped top. Her braids were pulled up in a ponytail. She probably went out. Maybe to plot another evil plan with my da– Leandro Armani.

"Franco told me you found my earrings. He was acting really strange when he told me. I've been looking for it everywhere. I lost it last night." She breathed out a sigh of relief when her eyes glanced at the jewelry in my hand.

"Don't act innocent, Rhone." I said through clenched teeth and tossed the earrings to my desk. The urge to squeeze the fucking truth out of her was overwhelming. Without being ashamed, she glanced at my bare chest and blushed. Shit!

She narrowed her eyes at me in confusion, "What do you mean?"

I pounded my fist on the desk and she flinched in fear at the rage in my eyes. "Goddammit! Just tell me the fucking truth, Rhone. You are working with my father to bring me down, ain't that right?"

She blinked in shock. Her hands tightened on her designer purse. Silence settled in. I waited for her to finally admit to the truth. She fucking betrayed me.

"What... What are you talking about?" She whispered in a small voice as I took a few steps towards her with a glare on my face.

"Admit it, Aaliyah. You almost killed me at Benjamin's charity event last night," I yelled. She trembled under my cold hard gaze. "You think I won't find out, huh? Your earrings were found right after the gun was fired at me. I can't believe I trusted you. We're supposed to be friends."

"We are friends, Blade. I have no idea of what you're accusing me of. I don't know how the earrings got there. I looked for it all day. I didn't do anything wrong, Blade. Please believe me." Aaliyah pleaded. A tear rolled down her cheek and I almost felt bad for yelling at her but that feeling vanished at the thought of Sienna getting shot instead of me.

"Bullshit!" I roared. She cried silently while I paced back and forth, plowing my fingers through my hair. She was always weak when it came to me and now I know why. She was insanely in love with me. "Don't fucking tell me lies!"

"I'm telling you the truth. Why can't you believe me? Is it because of her?" She croaked, wiping the tears from her cheek.

"Sienna has nothing to do with this. Don't you fucking bring her into this shit."

That's when she did the unthinkable. Her hands cupped my cheeks and she forcefully brought down my lips to hers. I was frozen at her actions. Before I had the chance to push her away from me, Sienna walked in with a tray of omelet, scrambled eggs and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.

Her expression was unreadable. All the blood drained for my face and I panicked of what her next action might me.

Sienna didn't run out of the room in tears like I thought she would, instead, she carefully dropped the tray on the desk and approached us.

Not sparing me a glance, she landed a hard slap across Aaliyah's cheeks and grabbed her braids in anger.
