WORSE THINGS

Start from the beginning

Liam shakes his head, "Isabella, you're not gonna kill anyone, alright? We're gonna help you. We'll pass it to her before the show starts and get out immediately, then we'll bring you to Derek's loft and chain you up."

"Who's Derek? And you're gonna chain me?!"

"Relax! That's exactly what they did to Scott, Malia and me when we were new to this. Calm down. We'll get it over with before you even know it," Liam replies.

Isabella calms down and gets more food. After they pay, they walk over to the pack's table and sit down. Liam sits down next to Isabella. Even though he does this everyday, she still feels slightly uncomfortable, and she's pretty sure any of the werewolves and Malia can smell that. But it's not like she minds. She just gets nervous and everything.

"So my question wasn't really answered. Who's Derek?" Isabella asks.

Stiles speaks up after swallowing his food, "Mm. He's another Hale. Peter's nephew. He's this really annoying guy, poor conversationalist, and has no sense of humor whatsoever. But we need him sometimes, and vise versa."

"He's also my cousin," Malia says.

Isabella nods, remembering that Peter is her father.

"So, why are we going to Derek's loft on Friday night and not somewhere else like Scott's house or something?" Isabella asks.

Scott answers this time, "Because he has a lot of space. Malia can control better than before, but we're gonna handcuff her, just in case because she insisted."

"And don't worry," Kira says. "If you lose control, we'll find a way to stop you from going too crazy."

"Just remember this. What are three things that cannot be long hidden?" Scott asks.

Isabella shrugs.

Lydia smiles, "The sun, the moon, the truth."

"Is that Buddhist?" Isabella asks.

"Yes, actually, it is," Liam answers, taking another bite out of his food.

Suddenly, a girl with firing red hair and big glasses in a dress runs over to their table and pushes Kira aside to sit next to Mason. Mason makes the most uncomfortable face ever, saying 'help me'.

"Hi Mason!" says the girl.

Mason forced and smile and says, "Hi, Haley." He drags out her name.

Liam makes the 'o' shape with his mouth and gives Mason a look, and he receives a similar one back. This must be one of their best friend codes and stuff. Every best friend duo has one, probably.

"So we're gonna work on the assignment tonight at my house right after school, okay? You can eat dinner with my family if you'd like." Haley offers.

"Uhh, um, Haley, I'd love to. Really, I'd love to. But...I promised my mom I'd go to the hospital with her to visit my sick uncle after working on the assignment with you." Mason says, making up the lie as he goes.

Haley gives Mason a look, "Your sick uncle should wait because we need to work on this assignment ASAP!"

"It's still due on Friday," Mason says.

Liam looks at Isabella and puts his hand on his heart and taps on it a few times, indicating he can hear his best friend's heartbeat increase really fast. Isabella nods, and she knows they need to make her leave.

Lydia knows this too, and she immediately musters up an idea. She smiles her oh-so-innoceng smile at Haley.

"Haley." Lydia says. Haley looks at her.

"What?" Haley asks in an irritated tone.

Lydia continues to smile, "What's your last name again? Clerkmussle?"

Haley frowns and looks away, embarrassed by her last name. Clerkmussle. Is that even real?

"It's Clerk-muss-ley," Haley corrects.

"Haley Clerkmussle." Lydia says, pronouncing it wrong. "I'm surprised you even had the muscles to walk up to this table."

"Why? What's so special about this table? It may include you, but you're not so popular anymore, are you?" Haley says, raising her eyebrows.

Lydia turns her smile into a smirk, "Watch your tone with me, sweety. Because you may think you're stronger than me, but you need to remember you've only been in Beacon Hills for four months, and I've been here my whole life. You know absolutely nothing about me and my town, so you have no power against me. You don't know what I can do, Clerkmussle."

"Clerk-muss-ley,"

"No one says it that way, Clerkmussle. You're not Mason's partner on his assignment anymore. Now. Leave us," Lydia says in a more serious tone.

Mason looks away from Lydia and faces Haley who's face is priceless. Her eyes are wide, and her mouth is slightly open from shock that someone actually bothered to fight back with her, and she couldn't think of a good comeback.

"I'm gonna ruin your lives!" she shrieks.

"Oh please. I nearly died on the lacrosse field, my boyfriend moved to England, I was strangled and survived, my best friend died, and I went to Mexico to help save a friend. What can you possibly do to ruin my life? And as for theirs, they experienced way worse things."

Haley is speechless and just stands up and walks off. Mason looks like he could finally breathe again after the scene.

"Lydia Martin," Mason breathes, and Lydia smiles. "I think you just saved my life."

Lydia shrugs with a smile on her face and continues to eat her food. Kira slides back into her her former place next to Mason. Liam smiles at his best friend.

"See? I told you the pack has you covered," Liam says.

In her dream, Isabella is losing control of herself and destroying everything.

She screams and yells at everyone in her way, telling them to stay away from her. She's losing control of herself, caused by the full moon.

"Get away! Get back! I don't wanna hurt you!" she screams at everyone.

There's policemen from the Sheriff Station, trying to stop the creature, the monster, that she's become. She's panicking, not know what to do.

A boy, his face is a blur, runs up to her with bright yellow eyes. Who is this boy? Should she know him? He's screaming at her. But she can't hear him.

His voice starts to clear up.

"La! Bella!" is what she hears.

Then she realizes he's calling her. He's yelling her name.

"Isabella!"

His voice is now clear, and she roars with her new monstrous face. He doesn't cower from her. He only steps closer, running towards her.

"Isabella!" It's Liam.

She screams at him, "I can't! I can't stop!"

He grabs her arms, and she tries to push him away. Even with her new strength, she's not strong enough to beat him.

"Look at me! Isabella! Look at me!"

Isabella focuses on his face. She tries at least. His eyes are bright yellow, glowing brighter than the fire behind her. She doesn't even know how the fire happened. But it doesn't matter because she suddenly feels a rush of calmness. She goes back to normal.

Then, she wakes up.
