Optimus watched the kids walk by him with the bed frame to the door into the small room. He stood up and looked at Bulkhead who kept a raised eyebrow at him. "You are here early."
"Not really. It's after nine in the morning, that isn't early." Bulkhead glanced down at Saphira for a moment before looking back at Optimus. "You were not staring at her all night, were you?"
Optimus shook his head. "I had only been here for a few minutes before you came in. I was just checking on her."
"Uh huh...you might want to get your processors straight," Bulkhead said with a frown. "If you had only been here a few minutes, that is good. But...you have been here longer, haven't you?"
Optimus frowned at him. "I don't know why you believe that Bulkhead."
The bot rolled his optics and placed his fists on his hips. "I might not be Ratchet, but I am no fool. You haven't exactly done this before, Optimus."
Optimus felt a little embarrassed, the bots knew him too well to know when something was different. "I had just been concerned about her, Bulkhead. You were not here last night when Saphira admitted to a few things. She also has a couple cracked ribs..."
"That'll take months to heal," Jack said as she and Miko walk to Bulkhead. "Could you talk about this later? Or are you trying to wake her up?"
Optimus watch the kids walk to Bulkhead head, he opened his chassis and they pull a mattress out. He smiled a little, this must be a surprise for her. He said nothing more for the time being as he did not want to wake Saphira. Jack stopped moving the mattress, which made Miko mad, he pulled a blanket out from Bulkhead's chassis and ran over to Saphira to wrap it around her. With that, he went back to help Miko carry the mattress to the bedroom.
Optimus was happy that Saphira would get a more comfortable place to sleep. "When did they get a bed together?" He asked curiously, looking at Bulkhead who was still looking at him with a suspicious expression.
"This morning, Fowler contacted them about it and he paid for it all," Bulkhead explained. "He's talking with Ratchet at the moment, Miko and Jack wanted to set up the bedroom to surprise her. Hopefully she stays asleep long enough for them to do that."
"We are almost done, we need the sheets, quilt and blankets now," Miko said excitedly before placing a finger on her lips. "Quiet everyone, we are making too much noise."
Bulkhead give the kids the rest of the bedding and they run to the bedroom quietly to make up the bed for Saphira. Optimus looked down at Saphira again before he turned to walk away quietly. Since Agent Fowler was here, it would be best for him to greet the man. He just hoped that Saphira would be happy with the new bed. He still felt a little embarrassed about being caught watching Saphira sleep. He did not know why he should even feel embarrassed. Plus, Optimus needed to process why this girl seemed beautiful to him. She was only human after all.
Thirty minutes pass by and Saphira finally began to stir. When she woke up, she felt warm and something soft wrapped around her. She frowned and opened her eyes slightly, looking down to see a dark, blue blanket wrapped around her. She thought she was dreaming. She didn't think there were blankets anywhere in the base. And if there was, who wrapped the blanket around her. Her mind immediately thought it was Optimus, though she was not entirely confident about that.
Feeling warm for the first time in a while, Saphira moved to sit up, and that was a huge effort. Her whole body felt sore and stiff, her ribs were screaming at her and she struggled to sit up without pulling herself up. She groaned loudly, huffing heavily as she sat on the couch to allow herself to wake up some more. She twirled a strand of hair in her finger thoughtfully, she wondered what time it was. She felt she had slept enough, but she also felt very tired at the same time. It must be due to her injury, or the events of the last few days that has made her feel this tired.
