"Go, Luther." Emery said over his shoulder. Luther pushed himself up and looked at the wall Emery had created with wide eyes. The thing was see through and they could see Marcus looking at it with much of the same expression as Luther. "Go." Emery urged again, successfully sending Luther stumbling back and into a small hallway between gaps of wall.

Emery let the small wall drop and Marcus glared down at him with fading astonishment. He readied himself for a mismatched fight but the promise was nothing more than an empty cookie jar. The first fist never flew but Vanya did as Sloane hovered her over the banister, suspending in mid air.

"Vanya!" Emery said, trying to move to catch the girl but Marcus held him back.

"Trust me, you don't want to get in her way." The man said and somehow, Emery found himself trusting his words completely.

A second later, Vanya was released from Sloane's grip and she was sent flying down. With no one to stop her, she hit the table directly below hard, the board splitting in half against her form.

The Sparrows all crowded around her as Vanya struggled to catch her breath.

Five ran into the room then too, hearing the ruckus created by the crash. His eyes were wide and hair wild as he took in the scene and then Emery. He ran towards him and pulled Emery back away from the group and Vanya.

The girls eyes went sheet white spreading down her face and chest too as that orb of power generated from her core. Emery grasped onto Five, tugging at his sleeve and urging him to teleport them both out before they could be hit with Vanya's powers. Finally, Five realized the weight of the situation and he got them out of there fairly quickly.

Emery panted as his lungs breathed in fresh air. They were outside now, just beyond the Academy's walls but the familiar building didn't look so welcoming. Emery could see it now, the little differences in the buildings structure, the Sparrow decorations in place of Umbrella's, the equipment on the roof, and the way people seemed to walk past the street with more vigor. The Sparrow Academy had stuck around well into their adult years despite the Umbrella Academy that had disbanded after Fives disappearance. The crowd favorite was obvious in this timeline.

Five urged him towards a white patio deck down the lane and both boys trod toward it, towards the other figures heading their as well. Emery silently counted them out in his head. One, two, three, four figures.

"Are you ok?" Five asked once his unsteady pants had been replaced with steady breath intakes and even slower releases. He had hit his head sometime during the fight and there was a large gash with dark dried blood dabbed at the edges. Emery tore his gaze from it, wondering idly what he must look like.

"Never been better." Emery said sarcastically. "Took a few hits. Gave some too. It's nothing I can't handle."

"You took a lot more than a few hits. You just be exhausted." Five said. "But you're hard to kill."

Emery hummed with a smile. "That I am." He glanced at Five who had no problem this time in letting the eye contact. "How are you? Truthfully."

Five shook out his arms and cracked his neck. "Well, my ego was bruised a bit today. I messed up again, the Umbrella Academy doesn't exist, and we have a fresh new batch of frenemies. I'm jolly good. But hey, at least there's no apocalypse this time."

"Not that we're aware of."

"Hey, I thought you were supposed to be the optimist and I was supposed to be the pessimist. We have to balance each other out, Emery."

"Right, my bad." Emery said with a fond smile. "Maybe the roles have switched. You do seem a bit lighter now that your not holding out on so many secrets from me."
