"Tracy wasn't just having trouble sleeping... It was a real disorder," Lydia explained with a sigh. "It was night terrors."
"Well, now she's the night terror," Stiles retorted.
"Especially since no one can find her," Amelie added with a nod.
"Okay, I know we're all tired and miserable..." Scott looked at all his friends but paused at an unfamiliar face. "Except for you."
Mason Hewitt stood between the pack, which had all turned to look at him accusingly. Mason was Liam's human best friend, so seeing that he stood amongst a supernaturally diverse pack, Amelie couldn't really blame the look of amazement on his face.
"Oh, I'm sorry— this is all just mind-blowing," Mason grinned before turning to Kira. "You're a Kitsune! I don't even know what that is!"
"I'm still learning," Kira smiled awkwardly.
"And you!" He turned to Amelie, whose eyes widened. "You can talk to dead people. I don't know if that's horrifying or amazing."
"That makes two of us," Amelie muttered.
"Liam, we said you could tell him, not invite him to the inner circle!" Stiles said through gritted teeth.
"Uh, I'm in the inner circle?" asked Mason, a look of amazement covering his features.
"No!"
"Guys, look, back to Tracy," Scott rolled his eyes "She's just one lone wolf— we can find her."
"One lone, serial-killing wolf..." Malia added.
"Uh, she only killed one person, you know?" Stiles replied, sarcasm lacing his tone. "The other two were mauled."
"Like that makes it any better," Amelie scoffed. "What do we do when we catch her anyway?"
"I say we put her down," Malia nodded.
"Intense," Mason's eyes widened. Amelie couldn't help the smile on her lips at the sight of the engrossed boy. It reminded her of herself when she was thrown into all of this.
"Guys, lets concentrate on catching her, first," Scott insisted. "We'll figure out the rest later."
"Solid plan," Amelie patted Scott's back as they all walked away and into the school.
The school was in its usual state of constant havoc. Students walking around, yelling at each other across the hall and laughing about it. The sight of it all made her lips curve downwards. It reminded her of Isaac. She hated thinking about how much she missed her best friend and thinking about him made her think about Allison too. It was not a pretty cycle.
At her locker, she shoved a few books inside while taking out her sketchbook for art class. She didn't expect to find someone standing against her neighboring locker when she shut hers closed. A scream almost erupted from her lips at the sight of her younger sister. "Karly, what the hell!"
"Can I have some lunch money?" Her sister quirked a brow.
Furrowing her brows, she looked the girl up and down. "Why?"
"Because I want to buy a hot air balloon... What do you think?"
"I don't think you can afford one with lunch money," Amelie chuckled, "Or that attitude."
"Amelie, please."
"Here," Amelie handed her ten dollars with an eye roll. "Next time get your own lunch money. Oh, are you doing anything after school?"
