Hidden Spark on Earth (TFP)

Chapter 21

"What the frag!" Saphira shouted in shock, staring at them with wide eyes.

"They fly!" Jack exclaimed as the scraplets buzz towards Ratchet in a circular motion like insects do as they approach their prey. "You never said they could fly!"

"Nevermind that!" Saphira yelled, running towards Ratchet as the scraplets fly towards him.

Ratchet stared fearfully at the bots and fell back onto his back as they began to swarm him and eat. Saphira began hitting off as many scraplets as quickly as she could. Jack raced over to join Saphira in hitting them off as quickly as they could. Saphira made sure to get good hits to break their heads. Ratchet groaned and screamed slightly, he tried to sit up only to fall backwards heavily. Saphira was stunned at just how quickly the scraplets were even able to subdue an autobot.

Ratchet swats a few of the scraplets off his face and glanced over, pointing. "The fire extinguisher!"

Saphira looked at him in surprise, though Jack ran over to the extinguisher to grab it and run back over. He pulled the pin and began spraying the cold chemical on the scraplets. Saphira had to dance around the spray while hitting the scraplets at the same time. However, she noticed the extinguisher seemed to affect the scraplets. They don't seem to like the cold very much.

Saphira smashed several more bots as they begin to drop off Ratchet's body. He made a grunting sigh of relief, turning over and supporting himself with his hands as Jack sprays what was left of the scraplets. She looked over Ratchet's body, seeing the areas that had been chewed, which was clear as the paint on his body had been eaten away...even though it isn't actual car paint. "At least we didn't give them a chance to eat any further into you."

Ratchet looked at her with a pained expression. "It still feels very unpleasant."

"No doubt." Saphira jumped as she heard more scraplets and turned to see Miko and Raf return with Bulkhead and Bumblebee behind them. And they looked like they just had the same rough time as Ratchet. "Well, frag."

"Ratchet, get the patch kit," Bulkhead said as he nursed his arm. "We're leaking energon like...WOAH!" He glanced up to see another swarm of scraplets above.

Saphira glanced around, there was a lot of energon leaking from them, but there was nothing they could about it right now as the scraplets dive down to begin trying to feed. Bee and Bulkhead try to shoot and fight back and destroy as many as possible. Saphira was quick to swing her spanner, knocking as many as she could out of the air as they swam the bots.

Saphira jumped when she heard Bumblebee fall onto his back and she ran over to him to hit off the scraplets from his body. Raf joined her and Jack sprayed more chemical on the scraplets that had begun to eat Ratchet again. She heard Bulkhead scream a high-pitched scream as he tried shaking off the scraplets, though that didn't work as they swam the large bot.

Saphira wished she had a second weapon as one didn't seem to be efficient. However, as she kept hitting them off Bee's body, she spotted a black pipe on the floor. Perfect. She scooped it up and used both the metal piple and spanner to smash the scraplets. She quickly found the scraplet's weakness too. A quick, hard hit to the head was enough to make them fall to the ground. They could be smashed properly afterwards once the bots were completely clear of the scraplets. And Saphira kept at it, so they were destroyed as quickly as possible.

Jack was able to subdue enough of the scraplets with the extinguisher that there was soon only a few, the bots drag themselves towards the platforms to sit against. This gave the humans the time to smash up any still active scraplet. It took ten minutes before there were no more scraplets flying around or twitching.
