Passing the camp I realized I really slept longer than I was suppose to. Everybody was already deep in their work. Whether it was guard duty, dealing with the locals or planning our next move. I walked to the Genral's tent and took a deep breath. Let's get this over with.

-"I understand that Howl. But we can't just barge in there with no clue what we're even looking for." General Reed said to Seargant Howl. -"Sir, my soldiers can cover the whole perimeter. All we need is a little bit of time and our archeologists will figure out the message without the need of the second horn." Howl replied. -"NO! That's final! I don't care how Trinity operated before. We won't cause panic in the city by marching in and forcing them to obey!" Reed replied, using his strong commanding voice. Naturally Howl didn't like being told no. Especially ever since he had to listen to much younger General. But it is what it is.

Reed then saw me. -"Please go back to your duties, Seargant. I will call for you when I'll need you." He said to Howl, who nodded and turned to the exit. I stepped out of his way and when he passed me he just gave me a look full of hatered. What's this guys problem?

-"Y/N. Come here." Reed told me. -"You wanted to see me, Sir?" I asked. -"Yes. And I already told you that you can call me Lucas. We were very close with your father. So I think you and I are past the formalities. Come take a look at this." He said and walked to the map that was on his table.

-"This, is an old map of Norway. From the Viking era. And this right here is the current Norway. Now, you know that there are two Horns of Kings." He started explaining but I interupted him. -"Drinking horns that show the way towards The Mead of Suttungr. There are two horns so no king could try and find the Mead on his own. Trinity already has one horn. And we're certain Croft has the other. Our horn tells a place we need to find, hers tells what we're looking for. The best way to get to the Mead is to embark on a journey made for two kings, who both trust and know each other. But there's only one Mead of Suttungr. And that's why no two kings have ever set together to find it. They wanted it for themselves. Legend says that the Mead is still hidden in Valhalla. Waiting for two rulers that won't fight for it. No matter who decides to have the ultimate knowledge." I told him the legend I heard so many times already.

-"Wow. You know it to the letter. I just wanted to make sure that you know what we're doing here. And that you're commited to our cause. And of course, that you agree to come with us." He said. -"Don't worry uncle Lucas. I'll help you get to that Mead. It's what my father believed you two would do. So it's the least I can do for him." I told him. -"He would be proud of you." He replied. I looked at the picture uncle Lucas had on his table. It was him and my father on their wedding day. I still remember being dad's maid of honor, kinda. They were both really happy that day. -"He would be proud of both of us." I told him.

-"Yeah. Well, I stalled you long enough. Off you go. I put you on a guard duty with Nathan." He said. -"Oh thank God, I don't think I would handle another one with Eric!" I said as I walked to the tent's exit. -"Ha! Yeah I saw the look on your face last time." He chuckled. -"See you later, Sir." I said jokingly. -"Just go you little devil." He said and went back to his map, wearing a slight smile on his face.

It didn't take me long to get to my assigned guard tower. After I climbed the ledder I was immidietly jumped by Nathan. -"Finally! Was starting to think he actually murdered you." He said. -"How many times do I have to tell you that the General is not as bad as people say he is." I told him. -"Ya, I'll believe that when I see it." He replied. -"Whatever." I shook my head at him. I never told anyone about the fact that the General's dead husband is actually my father. It would just complicate things in my opinion. And right now, complications are something I'm trying to avoid.

-"Anyway. Must've been a pretty interesting dream you had." He said after a few seconds. -"What?" I asked confused. -"You know, cuz' you kept moaning and screaming. Like, ooooh Nathan! Mmmm please, touch me there Nathan! Please! Please!" He laughed as he very loudly moaned those words. I punched his shoulder hard. -"Yeah, you wish. Is that your idea of flirting? Cuz' you suck at it." I told him. -"Oh, nah. You wish I was flirting with you, don't you?" He chuckled. -"As if. Dickhead." I replied. -"Your loss. You know, girls in my town practically fight over me." He said. -"Yeah, I know. You told me many times. And as I told you many times before. I'm not like the girls from your town." I replied. -"Sure. You're not like the other girls." He said with a very annoying girly tone. -"I'm not. And you better respect that before I break your nose." I told him. -"Yikes. She bites.....Joke's on you, I'm into that shit." He smiled.  -"Ughr, gross!" I gave him a side eye with disgusted look on my face.

-"Who knows. Maybe you'd like it." He said after a couple of seconds. -"Gross, Nathan! Shut up!" I yelled as he was laughing. -"Let's just take a few minutes to properly admire the nature alright. In silence!" I told him strictly. He chuckled but gave me what I asked for......for like two minutes. Then he started talking again.

—Few hours later—

-"And as expected from a man like me. I took the blame.....And got a threesome as a reward." He finished his story that I never even asked for and waited for my reaction. -"Why do all of your stories have alcohol, drugs or sex in them?" I asked. -"What can I say? I live a good life outside of here." He replied. -"Yeah, I don't think that-" Suddenly I stopped as I saw something weird on a nearby mountain. -"You don't think that what?" Nathan asked. I didn't listen as I was still trying to figure out what I'm looking at. -"Y/N? What is it?" He asked and looked in the direction I was looking at.

-"Over there. What is it?" I pointed out. After a few seconds of looking it was clear that it's a person. Using climbing axes to get on top of the mountain, but the mountain wasn't good for climbing and so the person slipped and started falling. -"That's-" -"Croft." I finished for Nathan. With nothing but hatered in my voice as I said the name.

-"Holy shit! We gotta report it!" Nathan said. But I was already making my way to the old path along the mountain. -"What are you doing?! It's not safe!" Nathan yelled at me. -"We can't allow her to escape. Notify the General, I'll go after her!" I told him. -"Fuck, be careful!" He said but then started making a report to his radio.

I had to jump over a big gap to get to the mountain path but luckily for me I was well trained and able to make it. -"Oh, fuck!" I ghasped as I saw how high I was and how unstable the path looked. Keep it together! I mentally slapped myself and ran along the path. Here and there I had to make a few jumps but other than that it was mostly stable. But I don't think that it could handle anyone too heavy.

Finally I arrived at the place we saw Croft at. And like on cue just as I slowed down I saw a hand gripping the edge of the mountain path. When she pulled herself up I aimed my gun at her. -"Stop right there!" And well....You know the rest.

So this is it! The first chapter! I know it was a bit longer but it's the first chapter so I had to pull you in and explain at the same time. Hope you're not too confused!
