38. A Step in the Right Direction

We tried on different items before we pushed each other away to purchase secret gifts we'd share with each other later. Playing silly games in stores had slowly become our thing.

I placed my handbag on the glass and looked over my shoulder to make sure he wasn't peeking before pointing at the Rolex I knew he liked most. "Spectacular choice," the lady said.

We moved around the store, and I peeked over my shoulder at Grey playfully. He blocked my view and cursed in Italian.

Out of all the pieces I'd bought, I only ended up leaving the store with the watch. Everything else was going to be customized and I could pick them up in a week. I got antsy just thinking about his reaction when I'd finally show it to him.

Since I was finished before him, I went into the coffee shop around the corner.

My phone rang as I exited the coffee shop, and I shoved my hand into the pockets of my sweatpants and took my phone out. "Yes, baby?" I answered as I turned the corner.

"Where are you?" he asked.

"Close your eyes,"

"It's not time for games, where are you?"

"Close your eyes and count to ten before you open them again."

He groaned, "Closing them now."

I hung up and walked toward him. I smiled as I stood in front of him with our food in my hands. He opened his eyes and I tiptoed and kissed him. "Look what I got you," I said handing him his iced coffee. I took his hand and pulled him down the street with me.

We walked through the park together with our arms linked as I fed him the sandwich I got him. We sat on one of the benches under a huge cherry blossom tree.

I grabbed the wipes out of my bag and wiped my hands and his mouth.

"How was your session?" I asked.

"It was good, but I don't think I need my own session next time. I'm more comfortable when you're there."

"I was thinking the same thing, next time I'll just book a longer slot for the both of us." I grabbed the bag from the jewelry store and gave it to him, "Open up acey-poo."

He handed me the one he held in his hand, "Together,"

I reached into the bag, pulled out the large Cartier box, and placed it on my lap. I looked over at him as he opened his box. My heart fluttered when the biggest smile spread across his face. "You like it?"

"You know I do." He leaned over and kissed me. "Thank you, baby, now," he motioned to the box on my lap. I grabbed onto his jaw and pulled him into a kiss. He groaned, grabbed my neck, and bit my lip when I tried to pull away. I pulled away completely and smiled when he mumbled something in Italian.

When I opened the box there were two bracelets in it. I picked up the first one, it was the Cartier love cuff bracelet. It was gold and had 'Ace's Wife' engraved on it.

"You like?"

"I love," I smiled.

"I think you'll love it much more when you see what's inside." He said and I furrowed my eyebrows. He winked and I shook my head as I turned it around.

My jaw dropped when I read what was inside. If I didn't know any better I'd swear my jaw had fallen onto the floor. "And personal slut" was engraved on the inside.

My body ran hot, and he placed a kiss on my flushed cheek. He took it out of my hand and slid it onto my wrist. "This one doesn't have anything special on it, it's just pretty." He smiled as he took the other one out of the box and put it on me.
