It's one of the reasons for the predicament she's in right now. Filling out electives three weeks after they were due. Nova didn't care in the slightest about her classes this year. In any case, her sister Elena threw a sissy fit when she realized she had been putting off something so crucial. So here she was sitting at the dinner table, being scolded by her sister like she was a child. "Nova, do I really have to baby you? You're eighteen now, and you should be responsible enough to do things without being told to do so, especially with things as serious as this!" Nova's eyes briefly traveled to her sister and then back down to the paper where it lay in front of her "I'm doing it now aren't I?" she continues to fill out a couple more spaces before Elena answers her retort. "Things with a due date should be done before the due date Nova." she paused and rolled her eyes before sighing under her breath "That's what due dates are for in the first place."

Nova chooses to ignore the jab, instead turning her focus on filling the paper up with whatever electives were left. Nova can hear her sister shuffle about the kitchen behind her before she sees her appear in her peripheral vision. "So tell me, why are you only now choosing your electives?" Her voice was filled with a mixture of anger and disappointment. Nova couldn't care less either way. "Um, because I forgot?" The lackluster answer she gives is one she uses often with Elena, even though ninety-nine percent of the time it does not work, anyway. "You forgot?" Nova huffs a breath of air and rolls her eyes. "Yes, Elena, I overlooked it. What do you want me to say?" Elena scoffs and turns around back to the kitchen "I'm sorry Elena, I fucked up AGAIN Elena." She doesn't look up knowing that it's wiser to let her sister just rant than to talk back and defend herself." You know, I wish you would start taking responsibility for when you mess up, you're not a kid anymore." At this point, Nova just tuned her out for as long as Elena would tolerate. Before Elena gets a chance to speak again the doorbell rings and a faint knock is heard at the door. "I'll get it, just finish your paper," Elena grumbled as she walked past Nova as if she was planning to move from her seat in the first place.

Nova can hear a small shuffle from behind her before a heavy hand is placed on her head and starts to bat her head around like a ball. At first, Nova thought it was one of the quests at the door and she got extremely annoyed but soon the laughter of Nova's older brother Jeremy can be heard behind her "Cut it out dude, I'm working on something." Jeremy continued to giggle as his hand slid off her head and back down to his side. "Sorry kid, you just make it too easy." Jeremy, Nova's older brother; he's two years older than Nova. So as her eldest annoying brother, he decided he would always pick on Nova no matter what she was doing, anywhere, anytime. Like any other big brother would. Jeremy was your typical stoner of the family. He had short, mocha-brown hair that he wore in a short, cropped cut close to his head. He wasn't skinny by any means, but he wasn't ripped either, a nice medium to go with his height of 6ft. He had dark hickory brown eyes that matched well with his hair and stature.

All these things are also attributed to the number of "followers" he had, as Nova liked to call them. Well, what do you call a bunch of men and women who are in love with your brother? It wasn't just her brother though. Her entire life she had to deal with men and women alike coming up to her to ask about her sister as well. Whether she is single, talking to someone, or just how she's doing in general, she will usually just give the same answer over and over again "If you want to talk to Elena/Jeremy please talk to them. I'm not a messenger girl."

Elena and Nova had a difficult relationship, to say the least. Elena's gaggle of followers was even broader than her brothers', but who could blame them? Elena was drop-dead gorgeous in the eyes of everybody. Elena had silky straight hazelnut brown hair, with dark chocolate doe eyes. Her smile was as soft as the sunset, subtle enough to give you an airy feeling when she uses it. Nova just felt irritated. She'd love nothing more than to wipe that smile off her face. It was just a persona, a fake version of herself, one she only ever gave to strangers and her followers. If she's trying to sweet-talk them into doing things for her, she gave this to Nova and Jeremy as well.
