You held your hands up in defense as you shouted, "I don't have a gun, Atsushi!"

Atsushi's face scrunched up as he made a sudden, terrible decision.

He picked an empty glass bottle that was rolling around (you could only assume it was someone's litter that no one had picked up and put away) and smashed it into your hand which had already been injured by Kouyou. The wound quickly reopened, and you had to hold in screams of pain from the glass shards that were probably infected piercing your skin.

"Atsushi, stop!" You tried once again, holding your injured hand, only to get elbowed by him in the stomach. You flew back and hit a bench at an awkward angle, causing more pain to course through your body.

As you tried to get back up, you looked over at the child that was witnessing everything. They were maniacally grinning. You also noticed a torn doll in the corner, and from the way it looked there was no way it wasn't attached to whatever was happening with Atsushi.

The moment you got back up though, Atsushi leaped towards you once more, swiping his weretiger claws lightly across your throat. Although it wasn't lethal, it was bleeding a lot and hurt like hell.

You reached for your throat, feeling the warm red liquid that came out of your body.

"(Y/N)!" A familiar voice in the distance yelled in a horrible panic.

When you looked over and saw Dazai rushing towards you as quickly as he could, you grinned. He would surely fix this, there was just one thing you could do to help.

With your non-injured hand, you formed a pole and tried to swat the doll towards Dazai.

He bent down, grabbed the doll, and quickly activated his ability. With that, the child stopped smiling and Atsushi was able to shake himself out of whatever nightmare he was in.

As the child walked over to board an incoming train, Dazai threw the doll aside and ran over to you. He kneeled down and cradled your head up against his chest. While his left hand held your neck in a pitiful attempt to stop the bleeding, his right hand held up your back to him. Somehow, you stayed conscious for quite a long time.

"Your new friends are so fragile Mr. Dazai!" The child yelled cheerfully from the open doors of the train they were on. At the child's voice, Dazai let out a growl of frustration and clutched onto you more tightly. "What I really look forward to is breaking you! Remember how you made me suffer? Soon you're going to feel the pain Mr. Dazai!"

"And instead of capturing you next time, I'll just rip your heart out, Kyuusaku," Dazai scowled back at them before turning back to look at you.

"Can't wait to play again! See you later!" They shouted as the train sped off into the distance.

Once they left, you looked off into the distance and spotted Atsushi, who was having a panic attack on the ground. He was rocking back and forth, covering his face, and muttering nothing but nonsense to himself.

Dazai quickly took to bandaging your wounds with bandages he kept just in case in his pocket. His hands were shaking as he wrapped the bandage quickly around your hand and neck.

"Why does this always happen," Dazai muttered to himself. He found it odd that you kept on getting hurt. It was as if history was trying to repeat itself, but something kept going wrong. It was as if you were destined to die, but wouldn't stop fighting.

It didn't matter to Dazai. He was glad that you hadn't left him yet like everyone else always did in his life. He would always try his best to be there for you, to look out and bandage you after a well-fought fight. As long as you didn't die, he would be fine.

When he decided that he did a good enough job of wrapping you up so that you wouldn't bleed out, he sighed and whispered to you, "you can rest now, I'll take care of the mess here. Don't worry about Atsushi, I'll help him too. I'm calling Yosano now."

Although you found it hard to speak at the moment, you were able to nod and slowly close your eyes, doing as Dazai told you. You let yourself rest as everything drowned out around you.

You trusted him, and he trusted you.

When you reopened your eyes, you found yourself in the agency infirmary. You were the only one there, and you were all bandaged up.

You had no idea how much time had passed, but you felt strong enough to walk and your injuries didn't hurt unless you moved them. There was one part of your neck that hurt like hell though. You thought you slept on it wrong, so it was cramped.

"Dazai? Atsushi? Ranpo?" You asked as you walked out into the main office.

When you walked out into the main office, you saw a chair with a bunch of chains on it. No one was in sight. The only thing there was the chair.

You were unnerved at the unusual sight, so you started walking outside your building, glancing at the cafe to make sure no one was there either. You were desperately calling each of your colleagues on your phone. Unfortunately, none of them answered until you called Ranpo.

"(Y/N)! Where are you?" He asked the moment he picked up your call.

"I'm outside the Detective Agency, where are you all? What's going on?"

"We're..." Ranpo began, but he cut himself off as he thought about a more pressing matter. "Wait... check your neck!"

Your neck? Although you were confused, you did as he said. Eventually, your hand came across a patch of rough skin that seemed to be in the shape of a child's hand. You told Ranpo what you found, and he yelled out a curse in response.

After a moment of hesitation, he shouted, "there isn't much time to explain, but you have to get somewhere safe! You're endangering the citizens of Yokohama! We don't have enough time to search for anything that can restrain you. Just trust me."

You were at a loss for words for a few seconds, but eventually you tried to ask him another question. "What do you mean by-."

Alas, it was too late.

You dropped your phone as you grabbed your neck in pain. Ranpo shouted at you over the phone as you took a second to steady yourself. Thankfully though, the pain ended quickly.

Although you hesitated to pick up your phone again, you slowly leaned down to continue your call with Ranpo. When you put the machine against your ear, you asked, "Ranpo, does a sharp pain in the neck mean anything?"

"Jesus, (Y/N)," the voice on the other side of the phone responded coldly, "are you kidding me? It means everything! You need to stop getting yourself hurt constantly! Stop being such an idiot already!"

This time, the phone shattered when it fell to the ground.
