Ratchet watched her with a smile, seeing her being enthusiastic about this garden was nice. "I am going to be very intrigued watching these grow. The way you are already taking care of the garden has been nice. And I know you will succeed in it." He glanced at the green house where the small seedling punnets. "The different ways to get your plants to grow is also intriguing to me."
"It is a lot of fun getting the hands dirty and being able to do things yourself," Saphira said enthusiastically as she finished and turned the water off. "I am surprised you came out here just to tell me that, Ratchet." She pulled at the hose reel to have it reel into the hose itself. "I think you'll like the garden more when there are plants that you can see."
Ratchet smiled at her, she appeared to be getting ready to head back into the base, though Saphira often remained until dusk just enjoying the outdoors. Ratchet was the only one to notice something off between Saphira and Optimus. "I actually came to ask if you wanted to go for a drive. I think there are things we need to discuss."
Saphira looked up at him with a surprised frown. "Uhhh...why?"
"Because I think I need to know what is going on. You've been avoiding him, Saphira." She turned away from Ratchet as soon as the words left his mouth. "Something has happened. Optimus keeps repeating you both just sat by a fire and told stories...something in my spark tells me that is a lie."
"It isn't a lie, Ratchet. Nothing happened that you need to be worried about."
"Then why do you avoid him?" Ratchet asked bluntly. "I am no fool, Saphira. Did Optimus hurt you?" She looked up at him in surprise when he asked the question. "Did he hurt you?" She shakes her head, looking down at the ground. "I hope that was an honest no, because I am trying to figure out what is going on."
Saphira took a deep breath and looked at him with a frown. "You should allow us to deal with it, Ratchet. I just...have a lot of things on my mind at the moment. But...since you did offer to take a drive, I could use something from town. Do you mind taking me? I have my bag with me."
Ratchet exhaled a little, he simply wanted to know what happened that may have caused Saphira to begin avoiding Optimus. And yet, she and Optimus would still kiss each other before she goes to bed each night. It made no sense to him. He huffed and transformed, opening the passenger door. "I sure hope you will stop blocking me, Saphira. I care about you, and I care about Optimus. I just don't want you both to end up hurt."
Saphira climbed into the cab and sighed deeply, looking out the window as she pondered Ratchet's words. He drove away from the property onto the road to head towards town. She looked at the dash thoughtfully. "I thought you would be happy that we aren't spending much time together."
"At first I was...but when I saw you kiss him a couple nights ago, and you still avoid him during the day...you need to explain it to me. Optimus has been...how do I put this...he's been spending time in his berth room more often than he has before with a sad look on his face. It worries me."
Saphira hadn't realized that Optimus was doing that, it made her feel bad. "Oh...I didn't realize. I guess...I guess you are not easily fooled. What Optimus and I have said about that night was true...but..."
"You left out some details, I could tell. Optimus assured me you didn't interface, I think I believe that, but you both did do something. I am not going to ask the exact details, I think that will be for you and Optimus to discuss. However, I am worried that incident caused it."
Saphira had tears in her eyes, she didn't mean to hurt anyone, and she realized she had caused it accidentally. "I'm sorry...I guess I haven't realized what my actions have been doing. I guess...I have just had a lot on my mind. I..." She grimaced a little before she continued speaking the work. "I do love Optimus, Ratchet. I am not going to deny that."
