"Are we not going to talk about-"
Twist was immediately shushed by Pronto, Kord and Eli. Their terrified pairs of eyes looked at Trixie to gauge her reaction. She sat on her mechabeast that was parked in front of everyone, stretching her back before she relaxed her body.
"Are we all ready?" she asked in a cheery tone, and the three original members of the Shane Gang sighed in content.
"For what?" Twist barked back.
Clearly, he wasn't happy to be forced to wake up at this hour.
I mean, who would be? Without any prior notice?
"You'll know when we get there," Trixie replied with a smirk as the garage door ascended.
"Where's my dad?" Eli asked as he rode up to me and came to a halt next to me. A soft smile pasted on my lips, butterflies in my stomach.
I am such a simp for this man.
"We have to be at Gateway Cavern after lunch," Junjie suddenly reminded.
"We'll make it on time. Don't worry," Trixie said, smiling at us.
"You told us to pack our swimsuits," Dana mentioned. "We heading to the waterpark or something?"
"No way," I gasped. I had never been to a waterpark before. I was never able to afford a ticket.
"Everyone is still settling down after the war, including all the workers. All the waterparks are closed temporarily," Trixie said.
When the garage door was fully ascended, Trixie revved up her engine, charging out of the hideout. We all took the cue and followed her.
"Are we going to the beach?" Tad asked through the gushing wind. "Please say yes. I have not been to a beach in Slugterra!"
"You've never been to a beach before?" Millard asked him, eyeing him up and down suspiciously but still acted like he wasn't surprised to be respectful.
"Right, forgot he's one of us," Eli mumbled underneath his breath, and because I was beside him, I was the only one who heard him.
"Well," Tad mumbled, scratching the back of his head. "No. I've never been to a beach before. Could you believe that?"
"That's crazy," Trixie said, playing along so that Twist, Dana and Millard wouldn't further suspect anything.
"Oh my Guardian Slugs what did your dad do to you," Twist commented, almost starting a duel with Tad.
...
"Pronto are we there yet-"
"Almost there!" Pronto answered for the hundredth time as we walked through a tunnel, the ground filtered with an unknown brownish green substance and dead fish. Dalinda grimaced, unwillingly laying her paws on them, raising her wings and tail as if the floor is lava.
"If this does not lead us to the beach, Dalinda will bite your head off," I said to the molenoid leading the group.
"Don't worry! I have a secondary brain!" he sang casually, moving forward in a jolly manner.
"I will slice your second brain in half with a Thresher," Dana whispered underneath her breath and I heard it since she was riding right beside me to my right. No one else heard her since we were riding at the back of the group.
I raised an eyebrow and slowly glanced at her direction. Her frown softened when she caught me peaking at her and she smirked at me.
"Come on! Dalinda gets one brain and I'll get the other. We'll make a great team," she said, and winked at me. "I'm just kidding, Ales. I would never kill your babe."
