Optimus was amused by Saphira's enthusiasm. Her love for the ocean made him want to give her the ability to enjoy it without connecting it to grief. "I am not mad, Saphira. I had wondered if you would like it, now I see I am correct. I might be able to swindle Ratchet a little bit about bridging us to a location. Of course, I will do more research on a location that is less likely to have human eyes spying on us. And less chance of decepticons finding us."
She liked the idea, she wondered if Optimus would be able to do it. "I hope you manage to do it, Optimus. I think I would really, really love it. Being able to sit in the water, move my hands and watch the glow of the plankton around me under the moonlight or sunset...that would be amazing."
Optimus was pleased that she really liked the idea, and he wanted to make her feel happy and loved. It might not be the best of times right now to talk about it, but he hoped to take her mind off the pain she was feeling about the death anniversary of her mother. Though, as Optimus pulled into the parking lot of the mall, Saphira felt the rush of the feelings come back and she took a deep, nervous breath. She hasn't spent a lot of her money that she has earned from her job, so she knew she could get the items she wanted.
"Deep intakes, Saphira," Optimus encouraged gently. "That's it, you should be feeling better now, my sweet, little moon." She smiled when she heard him call her that again. "If I could walk with you into the mall, I would. I will be waiting right here for you."
She nodded and she pushed the door open slowly, stepping down from the cab to the ground and slung her bag over her shoulder. She took a deep breath and made her way towards the mall entrance. She felt nerves making her stomach churn and she hoped she wouldn't need to run into a bathroom and hurl into a toilet. That would be very embarrassing. However, she knew exactly what she was after.
She took her time searching for the correct items, she became very picky about what she would use as a tribute to her mother, and it took her quite a few hours to buy what she wanted. This included things like her mother's favorite tea, colour, essence and so on. Saphira left the mall with several bags in her hand and a stone expression upon her face. She had been trying so hard not to cry that she eventually managed to keep a stone expression, enough that she might have bothered some staff at different stores. But, that did not matter.
Saphira walked over to Optimus, and he opened the door before she could climb in. "Thanks." She climbed into the cab and placed the bags into the back before relaxing in the seat with a sigh. "That took a lot longer than I expected." She let a few tears fall and she wipes them from her cheeks. "I almost stood in the store and cried so many times."
Optimus drove out of the lot as he listened to Saphira, watching her cry made his spark ache. "I am sorry that you felt overwhelmed. If I was there, I would be holding your hand the entire time." She smiled slightly as she knew he was trying to comfort her. "However, you have what you wanted to give your mother the tribute she deserves. If you need any help with..."
"No, no..." Saphira quickly interrupted Optimus gently. "I don't need any extra help. Thanks for the offer...but...this is something I have to do." She rubbed the seats gently and looked out the window thoughtfully. "Tomorrow is going to be a lot harder to wake up to...do you think I can stay with you again? I think tomorrow will be better if I wake up to your face in the morning."
"Of course, Saphira. I will never say no to you, little moon." Optimus also knew that Saphira may struggle falling asleep tonight being the eve of her mother's death. He wanted to be there, he wanted to comfort her as best as he could. "You don't need to say anything."
She nodded and kept looking out the window. She did look at the dash in surprise when he put on some music, and she felt more tears fill her eyes when he began playing, You'll Be in My Heart through the speakers. She wanted to hug and kiss Optimus so badly because of that. She hummed along to the song as Optimus drove back to the base.
