The Queens' Quarrel

Start from the beginning

"Heh. Well, you can be perfect sitting. I'm just starting to walk again after a week of just sitting and laying down, I'll die if I have to sit for another second!" She replies, shaking out her leg. I giggle as she does a silly little dance.

"So, how has your day been?" I ask.

Ceris stops her little dance abruptly, and puts a finger to her chin. "It was... alright I guess? Kind of a mix of things. Mostly good though!"

"That's good!" I respond positively. She nods, but looks down at the ground. I raise a brow. "Is something the matter?" I ask.

She shrugs and sits down. "I guess... I just haven't really felt like myself lately." Ceris somewhat concludes, sounding decently unsure. I brush a bit of hair from her face.

"Ceris, we have a toddler and full-time jobs! There's not much time to feel like ourselves anymore!" I joke, although her immediate reaction shown she didn't find it funny.

"Hey!" She scolds angrily. I bite my lip in embarrassment.

"I—I'm sorry! I meant it as a joke! I shouldn't say stuff like that." I apologize. Ceris looks away. "Is there anything I can do or say to help you feel more like yourself again?" I ask.

The former Dragontamer looks at me, and picks out a strand of hair. "Maybe I could dye my hair back to violet? And I was thinking of asking the doctors if I could ease myself back into working out? I already feel myself loosing my muscle." She said flexing and grumbling at what muscle she lost. I don't think she physically looks much different, but since she has been on constant bedrest for weeks now she definitely won't be at the top of her game when she gets back.
I'll have to remind her not to be too hard on herself!

Ceris let out a heavy sigh. "Anyway! I will never understand how you'd allow me to ramble like that with no off switch!" She laughs. "More detail! How was your day? How's Olivia? She been eating her vegetables? What's the progress on the Nether reconstruction?" She asks, her voice speeding up.

I giggle, clasping her hands. "Hey, remember to breath. I love hearing you talk about your passions silly!" I assure as she takes a few breaths. I smile.
"Olivia has been doing well! She misses you so much. She's been sleeping well, and eating all of her meals! Our baby's been spending her time with her grandfather or playing with her friend, you know her, Hogsworth's niece, Annie!
My day's been amazing, Ceris. Nether construction's been going smoothly, and with all the contributions, conditions are exceptionally livable, I decided to take Olivia today! She loved it and—" Ceris' face hardens and I stop.
  "What's wrong?"

"You took her to the Nether?" Ceris questions, her voice stern.

  "Yeah? What's wrong?" I ask.

My partner pauses for a second. "We tested her ancestry when we adopted her! She's 100% human! She's not like us whom could teleport out or just swim to the surface! The fire... the lava... she could've gotten hurt, or worse!" Ceris asserts fearfully, her eyes tearing up. My heart stops.

"H—Hey! It's okay! I though about that! She was in the palace the whole time, supervised by Annabella's mom, Layla, and I made sure she had a potion every hour!" I assure in attempt to assuage her fear. It works.

Ceris crosses her arms and lets out a sigh. "I am sorry for raising my voice, but I still would have appreciated if you had talked about it with me first."

I shrug awkwardly, scratching the back of my neck. "I understand I guess, but I want her to experience both our cultures! After all that is what we agreed on." I express gently, but firmly.

Ceris nods quickly. "Of course! But... don't you think most of your rituals and holidays are a little... extreme? I don't know if our daughter should be apart of that." My partner comments inconsistently. I feel my blood begin to boil, but push that feeling down.
