Buck had to admit, she played her part flawlessly. Chim walked past him with a side eye and made his way inside the room. Buck turned his music back on and kept his eye on Dr. wells the entire time, and fortunately she didn't step a toe out of line.
After the hour was up, Chim stepped out of the room, sent a confused glare Buck's way and left. Buck let out a relieved sigh, half the day was already over, although he had to admit it was the easier half. Bobby and Eddie were much more likely to cause a scene about this whole arrangement.
Another fifteen minutes later and Eddie made his way through the door, although unlike Chim, he didn't seem surprised. Which meant that he'd been warned, and was already angry by the looks of it.
"What the hell are you doing here?" He spat out.
"Therapy." Buck replied evenly, determined not to give Eddie a reaction or cause a scene.
"It isn't your session." Eddie replied, clearly still seething, "So you can leave now."
"No thanks." Buck replied.
"What, you don't have anything better to do?" Eddie continued, stepping closer to him.
"Not particularly," Buck shrugged, doing his best to seem unbothered, "although, you do have an appointment. It's that door right there, don't let me get in your way."
Eddie was practically fuming at that, and right then was when Dr. Wells decided to make her appearance. "Hello Mr. Diaz, I'm Dr. Wells." She introduced herself, "Why don't you come on in."
"I'd love to, as soon as he leaves." Eddie grits out, clearly not above making a scene.
"Oh, don't worry about Mr. Buckley." She waved a hand at him dismissively, "Go ahead and come in."
Eddie seems to pause at that response, it clearly hadn't been what he was expecting. "Is he even allowed to be here?"
"He is, I assure you." Dr. Wells said in what seemed to be her best 'talking with a client' voice. "Now how about we get started. I'd hate to have to report to your Captain that you're having trouble attending your appointments."
Eddie seemed to consider this, but realized he wasn't going to get Dr. Wells on his side. He shot Buck another withering glare and stepped inside the office.
Buck let out the breath he'd been holding as soon as the door was shut. That'd actually gone a lot easier than he'd expected, clearly Eddie had not wanted to make too much of a scene in front of a stranger, or get in trouble in the reports going to Bobby about their attendance, which he was very grateful for.
He hit play on his music again, and watched Dr. Wells through the window for the next hour. Judging by some of her reactions and expressions, she wasn't getting anywhere with getting Eddie to open up. Buck almost wanted to laugh at that, he was familiar with the struggle, and very grateful that Dr. Wells especially wouldn't be making any progress.
An hour later, Eddie came back out. Looking the same as he had when he'd gone in, except maybe a little less angry and more confused and calculating. It was clear to him that Buck and Dr. Wells had something going on, and as much as it pissed Eddie off that Buck was doing this, he also clearly wanted to figure out what was going on. Eddie shot him another glare, but made his way back to the waiting room with no further issues.
And right on schedule, 15 minutes later, Bobby came through the door. He looked pissed and completely unsurprised that Buck was there, clearly having also been warned.
"Firefighter Buckley." Bobby said, stopping short just a few steps away from him.
"Captain Nash." Buck returned with a nod.
