Tricked and Trapped

Chen was cackling to himself, admiring the chaos he'd created. The Staff of Elements was held firmly by a guard and was glowing with the power it had already stolen.

"Welcome to the ceremony! So glad you could make it!" Chen shouted, laughing. He snatched the staff away from the guard and turned to Skylor.

"I offer my power to you father," she said monotonously.

She kneeled before him like a servant to a god, just as he wanted. Chen began to take her power into the staff. She was in such pain, and she had a look of pure terror on her face. Y/n almost felt pity for her. Almost.

There was that hatred again. Well, she thought, Skylor had hurt her with that betrayal. That scar, that bruise had joined the gallery on her heart and head.

Bruised mind. Bruised soul. Bruised girl.

Bruised could heal.

Finally, Chen was finished. Skylor was shaking in pain, but she rose at once and stood beside him, head down, refusing to look at any of the fallen alliance. Serves her right. Kai had a look of concern on his face, but he tried to hide it. He knew now that she'd used him, and now it was time to move on. But that wasn't fair, nor was it easy.

Clouse stepped towards Chen and mumbled something in his ear. Chen groaned."You told me she'd have unlocked it by now Clouse!"

"I had not predicted the ninja getting in our way Master. I had little opportunity to speed things along."

"Well, you have plenty of opportunity now, don't you Clouse? Take her for the ritual and I can absorb her element later!"

"Very well. Release Y/n!"

Y/n turned to her team. They glanced back in shock. Kai glared up at the two, while Jay was watching in concern. Y/n watched as a guard approached her menacingly.

"What the hell do you want with me Chen? Huh? You got something you wanna share with the group?"

"Uh, the saying's class," muttered Neuro

"Shut up I never went to school."

The guard uncuffed her and pinned her arms behind her. Clouse laughed maniacally. Y/n swallowed a lump in her throat and readied herself. She swiftly kicked the guard's shins. He dropped her arms and moaned in pain. She flipped off Clouse and made a run for it. She could hear him shouting behind her but ignored it. Three guards blocked the entrance they came through. Using as much strength as she could, she formed the first thing she could think of- a giant snake. She climbed onto its head I

let it snap at the guards. One went flying across the room, another ran screaming. The third guard was trapped by the snake's tail. Y/n took her chances and ran through the door, down hallways and dungeons, eventually running into a thick wooden gate. She could hear guards coming from all sides. Through the window she could see a factory of sorts.

"The noodle factory."

She banged on the door with all she had. Someone came running to the door.

"Y/n?"

"Cole! You have to let me in! Don't ask questions, just do it!"

"Uh, okay, let me use my strength- oh wait no. That won't work. Uh-"

Y/n groaned in annoyance, and quickly used her power, with the intention of giving her something to break through with, but all she got was a key.

"It'll do," she mumbled, unlocking the door and creeping in. She locked it again and ran to hide. The guards burst in moments later.
