Chapter 61

"For them. Not for me." Saphira climbed into the cab and got comfortable, putting the seatbelt on. "Especially as we have the whole day to ourselves." She put her hands behind her head as Optimus drove out of the base to head into town.

"Am I to imagine that you will get more black?" Optimus inquired curiously.

She shrugged. "Hmm...don't know." Saphira simply wanted to dress up and make Optimus's jaw drop, and also because she wanted to add colour to her wardrobe now. She still loved black, but she felt boring as well. "There might be some black, but it won't be boring. What I have now is pretty much boring...except for the sundress."

"I think you're beautiful no matter what you wear, Saphira," Optimus compliments gently. "Though of course...nothing beats your natural appearance."

She felt her cheeks heat up at the compliment. "That is true. But I can't go around naked everywhere I am afraid. I would probably get into a lot of trouble if I did that."

Optimus was amused by the comment, though he did not laugh. "Hmm...maybe tonight...you and I can share something special. What do you say?"

Her cheeks redden some more as she thought about it, they hadn't been intimate for quite a few days, and she was starting to crave it again. "I think that sounds like a good idea. With a few additions of course."

"Additions?" Optimus questioned curiously. "What kind of additions are you talking about?"

Saphira shrugged. "Not sure yet. Though, I am sure it will be a lot of fun when we can do it."

Optimus knew Saphira avoided the answer to the question, and it only made him a lot more curious. Of course, he could not force her to give the answer, and if it was something she wanted to surprise him with, he would not pressure her on it. However, that didn't stop him from thinking on the surprise of what she wanted to do.

"I should also apologize, Saphira." She blinked and looked at the dash in surprise when Optimus spoke in an apologetic tone. "I have been a little too overbearing over the last week. I haven't really thought about how it has been affecting you."

"It is okay, Optimus," Saphira smiled. "I know what happened scared the both of us. And you have already lost someone you love to Megatron. So...it is understanding that you would get more protective."

"And it doesn't excuse me for suffocating you, even if it is my way of trying to protect you," Optimus continued calmly. "While I am humbled that you understand why I am being like it...I shouldn't be too protective. I don't want to push you away. You've been through enough without me adding to your problems." Saphira smile softened as she listened to him, feeling sad that Optimus was feeling this way. "I think...my fear went into overdrive when you and Ratchet told me what happened. I felt guilty that I was not there to help you...I guess that is where this protectiveness is coming from."

Saphira rubbed the dash gently to comfort Optimus. "Optimus...none on of us could have predicted that Bee had Megatron in his head due to the cortical psychic patch. None of us could have. It was not your fault."

"I know...it has taken me a lot of thinking and a lot of Ratchet shouting at me...to realize I have been irrational..." Optimus enjoyed the feeling of Saphira's comfort. Her kindness and love towards him had no bounds. "You really have taken all of this and not complained about it much, Saphira. I know you've gone to Ratchet to get away from me...and I am glad that you have. Without him, I think you would have been less than pleased."

"I think that would be true...but...thankfully, I don't feel any different towards you, Optimus. I am just happy to have you in my life." She leaned forward to kiss the dash gently. "Besides...I would be very depressed if our relationship crumbled. I don't know how I would cope."
