It was so strange to see Max in such state, she looked like Vecnas child. Her porcelain skin much more red and burnt like Vecnas. Her usually tamed hair a matted mess.. her eyes.. those were not her eyes.

"You'll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands." You snarl, grip tightening around the handle as you look at Vecna through narrowed slits.

A disturbing smile dances across his - Max's charred face "As you wish." Vecna breathes out heavily,

His creepishly long fingers extend towards you, trying his best to drag you towards him with the powers he possess but clearly even he underestimated the strength of the sword.

"Not going to work," you taunt, closing the distance between you two as you swing the sword down to the ground.. dragging the point along the hellish earth beneath your feet.

"Alright," he breathes out again "Fine," he growls as he steps forward, arms open.. waiting, ready.

There were only so many shots you had, so running at Vecna full speed? Well that was a shot worth taking.

You swing the sword up as you lunge at him, surprised by his reaction time. Okay, this may be trickier than you thought.

It was now a battle of stab and dodge, you go to stab.. he goes to dodge. It was becoming fruitless tremendously fast.

"You underestimate me," he laughs, as you bring the sword up and go to swipe at his chest.. he raises his monster like claw at the same time and takes hold of your face.

"See what I see," he snarls as his long, dirty nails dig into your face.

The icy blue eyes that belong to Max have long faded away and have been taken over by the monster.

You scream out in agony as your vision disappears completely, taken over by white and black flashes that start to resemble memories.. moments.

Torture. Pure torture.

You don't want to see that again.

You try to close your eyes, try to think of something else, try to overpower Vecnas abilities.. it's no use.

There you lay, like you did so many years ago.. the demobats sinking their teeth into any flesh they can get their hands on.

You can feel it all, like it was happening all over again. The excruciating pain that radiated through your body, your badly injured leg.. oh that seething pain.

And there's Eddie, just as he looked on that dreadful night many moons ago.

The same scenario playing out before your eyes, his body shielding yours he takes on the attack of the demobats to protect you.

No. No. You try to fight it. You don't want to see it again, you don't want to hear the gut wrenching screams that escape his lips again. No no. Make it stop.

Your hand trembles, the grip you have on the sword wavering as your fingers are forced to open against your will.

You scream out louder in pain as Vecnas claws dig into your face even deeper.

It truly felt like you were about to be skinned down to the bone.

So many flashes of Eddie, the demo bats attack when him and Steve almost got trapped in the upside down.
