The sight before you was so familiar that it made your stomach turn - there Will was, floating in the air.. the dead space just like Vecnas previous victims.
Though you knew Vecna wasn't going to suck the life out of him or break his bones like he had done to the few before.
Instead Vecna was keeping him off the table so to speak, not easily reached.. not easy to save.. not easy to kill.
He's out of commission, off the map.. for now. He can't just keep Will floating above the two of you completely non alert forever.
Of course, there stands Vecna. Just the same mutant looking creature as before, somehow even uglier now.
Maybe it was due to the dreams over the years, well more so nightmares. Ones in which your mind tried to make Vecna less terrifying and more human like.
He was just a man made monster after all. That was a much more horrifying thought.. it made him relatable. You grimace at the thought.
You carry the sword proudly by your side, Vecnas eyes not wavering from your as he watches you take slow strides towards him.
You weren't just about to go up to him and shake hands, you knew better than to get too close.
Instead you stay a good distance away, standing your ground.. showing that you're not afraid.
"Hey scum bag - I think it's time this ends once and for all." You bring the sword up and rest it over your shoulder, your weight shifting from one hip to another.
He's just a man turned monster.
That's it, that's all he is.
You repeat to yourself.A gruelling grin takes form on Vecnas disgustingly deformed face "Ahh, so you've made it." His voice much deeper and distorted than you remember.
It sends a shiver down your spine while it echoes through out the surrounding area.
"Just on the dot," you grin back with batting lashes, head cocked to the side as you momentarily eye Will.
Still hovering, still powered down.
Vecna takes a step forward, it takes everything in you not to take a step back "Where's the others?" His own head tilts to the side as he extends his monster claw of a hand
"I thought this would be more... interesting." His voice somehow manages to growl even deeper, every word sinister as he spoke.
You give a lazy shrug of your shoulders "Sorry, guess you're stuck with just me."
You state in fact with probably a little too much sass but you had to appear as confident as ever, even if you weren't.His hand twists as he thinks "So you've figured it out then, hmm?" You'd like to imagine a brow raised on his grossly wet forehead but there were no brows to see.
Letting out a huff of air, you nod "Wasn't that hard." You raise the sword off your shoulder momentarily, the keeper of the upside down - the holy grail of weapons.
"Though I can't understand Will - why Will? Why wasn't he experimented on?" you weren't actually expecting real answers from Vecna, that would be foolish but you were curious what his rendition would be.
"That's a question for papa," he breathes out, god even his breathing was bone chilling.
"Of course," you blink - like you said, you weren't expecting actual answers.
"Yet," the gruff voice seeping out of Vecna pauses "You haven't figured out that Kas was a puppet too.. I needed to get the sword some how." His fingers curl as he points to the sword on your shoulder.
