Location - (L/N) Residence, (Y/N)'s Room

Your POV

It was already morning by the time I woke up. But as I did, I felt my heart go to my stomach, knowing exactly what's going to happen today. Even though today is the weekend, this is when I am busy the most. My weekends are filled with nothing but studies and lessons, and I never get a chance to do what I want to do.

I got out of bed and opened up my curtains to see what was going on outside. It was a nice day today, but I guess it's too bad that I won't be able to enjoy any of it. I often pray that my weekends could be different, and little did I know, that wish was going to come true...

First there was a knock at my bedroom door, then I heard my father's voice on the other side.

"Son? Are you awake?" He asked.

"Yes, I am!" I called back.

He opened the door and smiled at me.

"Ah, good morning my son." He greeted with a smile. "Did you sleep good?"

"Yes, I did, father." I replied with a smile.

"That's good to know." He said as he continue talking.

"Listen, your mother and I noticed how hard you've been working lately, so she and I decided that just for today, you can spend the day however you want." He said.

Wait, am I hearing this right? Did my father said I can spend my day how I want to spend it? I know he's not the type to lie, but to actually hear it from his mouth... it makes it hard to believe.

"Wait, I can really do this?" I asked.

"Yeah, but it's just for today, and if you plan on leaving the house, make sure to come back at a certain time."

"Understood."

As my father left my room, I got even more excited. This is something I've been yearning for for most of my life, and now, it is finally coming true. But there was so many things I wanted to do for years, so what should I do?

Location - Residential Area

Being able to spend to the day my way has always been a dream of mine. There were so many things I wanted to do, but I don't even know where to start. While I was thinking about this, I can hear my stomach growling.

"I guess the first thing I should do is probably get something to eat." I said to myself.

I guess I can always go to the food court in the mall, then go window shopping for a while.

"Yeah, I should that." I said and headed to the mall.

30 minutes later...

Location - Shopping Mall, Bookstore

I made it to the mall, and as expected, it was fairly crowded. It is the weekend, after all. As I arrived at the mall, the first I decided to do is go to the food court and get something to eat. I ordered a burger with fries, and to be honest, it was better than I expected.

After eating, I decided I should spend a little more time here at the mall before going home. They had so many stores here that I don't even know which one I should check out first. I ended up walking past a bookstore, and spotted a familiar face in there.

"Isn't that..."

It was her, the girl I bumped into a while back. I still felt bad about that, and ever since that day, I kept thinking to myself, wondering who she was. Will she even remember me, though? I have no idea...

But this is my chance to talk to her again, so I entered the bookstore and walked over to her. I tapped her shoulder lightly, but I think that just startled her.

"Eek!" She said. "W-Who's there?!"

"S-Sorry... I didn't mean to scare you." I said.

The poor girl was now in a panic because I tapped her shoulder. Once she calmed down, she got a good look at me.

"Oh... I remember you." She said.

"Yeah... nice to see you again." I replied.

"You too." She said with a small smile.

"So... what brings here... to the bookstore?" She asked.

"Oh, I just thought I would come here and look around, as I ended up getting the opportunity to do so." I explained.

"I see."

"Is it okay if I joined you?" I asked.

"Not at all." She said with another small smile.

"Thanks."

"Oh, I should introduce myself." I said. "My name is (Y/N) (L/N), nice to meet you."

"You too... My name is... Shirokane Rinko." I said shyly. Rinko, huh? That's a nice name.

A few hours later...

Location - Shirokane Residence

Rinko and I had a wonderful time together. She and I were talking about what kind of genres we were into. I usually don't care what kind of book I read, and it turns out Rinko is the same way.

After a while, the two of us left the mall, and I began to walk Rinko to her house. While walking, Rinko and I were talking and getting to know each other a bit. Rinko didn't say a lot about herself other than playing online games and being a keyboardist for a band. I didn't say a lot about myself either, but maybe when we hangout again, I'll open up a little more.

Rinko and I arrived at her house. Even though she spoke quietly, I can hear her loud and clear.

"Thanks for... walking me home." She said.

"Yeah, my pleasure."

"Do you think... we can..." She started but stopped talking.

"Hm?"

"Nevermind... I'll see you later..."

Rinko walked inside her house, and I began to head home. What happened at the end? Was she about to ask me something?
