Tw: Being restrained, asking to be killed/let die, mention of dissociation
Note: lmao sorry for those who haven't read my other stories, I haven't been updating cuz I was being abused for a real hot minute, I lost 95% of my belongings and now I'm trying to cope with moving on
Phil didn't leave Tommy alone as Tommy seemingly continued to loose his mind in the chair. He was crying violently and every once in a while he tried to pull his hands out of the restraints. Phil just watched, every once in a while he would try to get Tommy to breathe or calm down.
Tommy didn't ever want to listen, but Phil didn't stop trying.
Tommy eventually calmed down, enough that he was breathing steadily and stop struggling, so Phil let him out of the restraints. Tommy just moved to go sit on the bed. Phil watched as Tommy curled himself under the blanket on the bed.
He looked like a child, only more broken than a child would be.
It took Phil a moment to realize that Tommy was still a child. He wasn't sure why he forgot that.
"Alright mate, do you wanna talk about what just happened?" Phil asked, sitting down in the chair that Tommy had just been in. The restraints were still on the ground next to the chair.
"Let me die." Was Tommy's response. Phil frowned and looked at him confused slightly. What could he say to make things better,
"You're not gonna die Tommy, we're not going to hurt you." Phil said, folding his arms. Tommy brought his knees to his chest, still under the blanket. It took Phil another moment to realize that was Wilbur's blanket that was in the lab.
"Then give me back to Dream." Tommy said like it was the simplest thing.
"Tommy, we will never give you back to Dream ever. If you don't want to be here then that's fine, but we aren't going to give you back to Dream." Phil explained but Tommy just stared off. His eyes were blank and Phil wondered if this was some sort of dissociation.
"Kill me then." Tommy responded and again Phil made a face.
"I just said we're not going to hurt you." Phil repeated but this didn't seem to disturb Tommy.
"I'd rather be dead then controlled." Tommy said barely above a whisper, but Phil heard it all too well. He didn't know how to tell Tommy in a way that he would understand that Wilbur wasn't controlling him. It should have been obvious since Wilbur wasn't even here.
"Tommy, we aren't controlling you. We haven't controlled you. Everything that has happened here has been of your free will." Phil explained but Tommy didn't listen.
"Then why am I still here?" Tommy asked. Phil took a deep breath before exhaling sharply.
"Because we're protecting you." Phil stated.
"By controlling me?" Tommy said in a voice that was dripping with sarcasm. Phil took another deep breath to try and keep his annoyance in check.
"Tommy for the last time we aren't controlling you. We aren't making you do anything. We brought you here to get you away from Dream because he was going to kill you. He was using and abusing you, so you needed somewhere else to go. That's why you're here. Not because we controlled you and made you come with us." Phil explained but Tommy just continued to stare off. Phil wasn't even sure where he was looking.
"Didn't you kidnap me in the first place though? Isn't that why I am here, you took me?" Tommy asked and Phil stood up.
"Alright. It's clear I'm not going to get through to you, so if you want you can leave. The door is open." Phil said as he walked over to the bedroom door and opened it, walking out.
He could hear the shower running still, meaning Techno was in the shower still. The rest of the house was empty, meaning Wilbur had left for patrol.
Without looking back at the room Phil made his way downstairs and to the kitchen. He looked over at the broken window and sighed, it was gonna be a pain in the ass to fix it. For now he could at least clean up the broken glass.
He grabbed a broom and a dust pan from the hall closet. As he shut the door he heard the floor boards creak upstairs, but since the shower was still running he knew it was Tommy who was moving about.
He continued to clean up the broken glass, throwing it away in a garbage can. Once Phil was done with that he decided he was going to make some tea, or at least boil the kettle in case anyone else wanted something warm to drink.
He got out his favorite mug and favorite tea, putting the kettle on and standing by the stove. He could hear Tommy's footsteps slowly coming down the stairs.
When Tommy made it to the kitchen he looked over at Phil. Phil didn't say anything, didn't make any movements or do anything to scare Tommy. He could tell Tommy's anxiety was through the roof.
They stood in a stare off until a large crack of lightning sounded, scaring Tommy and causing the lid to the kettle to fly off. Tommy stared at the lid on the floor and looked back up at Phil.
"Sorry, the noise scared me." Tommy said, reaching down for the lid and handing it back to Phil.
"It's okay. You were able to shoot that pretty far." Phil smiled, taking it back from Tommy. Tommy didn't say anything else but instead turned back to look at the staircase leading to the front door. As soon as he took his first step down the stairs Phil heard the shower shut off.
By the time Techno made it downstairs, using a towel to dry his long hair as he walked, Tommy was by the front door. He hadn't opened it, he hadn't even touched the handle. He was just staring at it.
"What's going on with him?" Techno asked, taking the mug of tea Phil handed him.
"I told him he was free to go if he wanted." Phil said and Techno gave a look of 'are you fucking crazy?' "Just watch Techno." Phil said softly.
Tommy reached his hand out and touched the doorknob. He twisted it slightly and pulled the door open. He looked at the outside world, saw the rain pouring and he inhaled deeply.
He shut the door again.
