"I'm telling you it's not me"
The atmosphere now was getting chaotic. People didn't know who to trust at this point. It was now onto these three: One, Four or Ten.
"This should mean.." One and Four just stared at each other. "We still didn't find the reaper-"
Nine, who was still passing water bottles out to other ghosts was confused why Eight was screaming One's name decided to go ask Eight about it.
"Hey! Um.. er- Four?"
"Yeah, Nine?"
"Is it okay if you pass the water bottles to the rest of the ghosts?"
"Er- no problem Nine!"
Nine just dropped the box the water and immediately ran to Eight.
"Eight! What do you mean by 'It's One?' Is it okay if you summarize it to me?"
"I-I think One is the head grim reaper!"
"There's a boss?!" Nine gasps. This whole thing now feels silly.
"Why don't they think it's me?" Nine chuckles.
With One
"Guys! Have you heard that there's a head grim reaper?" One runs up to Five and Three. Five was trying to stop Three from taking more pictures she failed 97 times.
"Hmm? Yeah, we heard from Four." Three finally stops pulling herself to the camera stand.
"It's not me.."
"Then who is it?" Five asked worried.
Nine decided to jump in the middle of the conversation. "I don't understand what's even going on! Tell me the story!"
One decided to ignore Nine's question and just decided to run away.
"Pfft, she only came here to tell us that she's not the grim reaper? Suspicious behavior." Three glares at One.
"Somebody just tell me the stor- A-CHOO!"
One just continued to walk through the forest. Until.. she ran into a bar. And behind that bar... was a village. Above the bar was animal corpses hanging on it.
"Gagh! Those look realistic! But I hope they have more hints!"
"HEY YOU!"
"GAGH!" One flinched. "What the heck was that?!"
A familiar squeaky voice.
"Octonaughty?" One stared up. She was scared. Octonaughty, still looked the same as the beginning. Bloody clothes. One of his pupil missing. He was smirking down at One. He knelt down to One's height, trying to look as cool as possible.
"Are you a human?"
"What?"
"Ghosts and grim reapers can't enter."
"What?"
"Well, the head grim reaper has a deer's horn, a fox's head and pig teeth. Do you have any of these?" Octonaughty pointed above the bars. In the beginning, One didn't even care to look at the corpses carefully much but then she did look up to examine the details. Up there were a deer's head, a fox head and a pig's head. "If you're wearing any of those, you cannot enter."
"BAH! Do I look like I'm wearing any of those?!" One stared at Octonaughty annoyed. Was he that stupid? "Wait-" One paused. "Repeat the last sentence please?"
"If you're wearing any of those, you cannot enter. In fact, you physically can't enter."
"No! If you have the deer's horn, pig teeth and fox head, I can't physically enter?"
Octonaughty nodded, giving One a proud dad smile.
"So humans only?"
Nod.
"I thought you were a ghost!" One pointed at one of Octonaughty's eyes.
"Oh, I am a human. Don't worry. I just have one of those tragic backstories. That's why one of my pupils is missing. Anything else you wanna say?"
"Yeah- onto the topic. Obviously I don't have any of those!"
"So you're a human?" Octonaughty tried his best to give his suspicious smile.
"Yes!"
"Then get in."
One was not one of the grim reapers.
"Oh." Was the only thing One could say now. Oh.
One walked around the village amazed. Hay roof tops, paper doors with wooden frames. "Can't get in, huh?" One thought she didn't have enough puzzle pieces. In fact she had all of them now. She just couldn't put it on the right piece. Well she got all of them together now. "Then what am I doing?!" One exclaimed and smacked her forehead. "HOW DUMB WAS I?!
-I COULD BRING THEM HERE!"
One immediately ran out again. Ready to find one out of two living mortals left.
"FOUR! TEN! FOUR! I NEED YOU GUYS!"
Four was about to do rock paper square with Nine when One just jumped on top of him.
"I need you to follow *wheeze* me!"
Nine gave Four a convinced nod and gave him a gentle shove and off they went.
"Can you come please?"
"Okay, One! Calm down, I'm coming!"
"S-so-" One stopped for one more breath. She was so tired that she took her fedora off to turn it into a fan. "Octonaughty just told me that the grim reapers can't enter that door."
"What?" All the other ghosts that were humans a few hours ago came to watch the drama.
"You know what I mean!" One was wheezing too much that her voice was slowly turning into a squeaky toy.
"The grim reaper can't go through an empty door?" Four asked unconvinced. "You're probably lying."
"Come on Four, just get in! If you don't then that's a sin!" Six seemed to be on One's side.
"Six, how is it a sin?!"
"You were lying." Five joined Six.
"Just get in!" The tension was rising and rising. Everyone was confused but still took sides. One hops behind the bar. "Look! I'm here!"
"Look! I can come in too, look!" Four finally walked toward the bar. But then he stopped once he reached the bar.
"Why aren't you coming in?" One was slowly getting triggered right now.
Four was slowly getting into a mental breakdown.
"I-I can't! I just can't do it!"
(A/N: I think this is a great place to stop here and take a long break ;). Don't worry though. I'm not abandoning this book and I'm mentally and physically okay! I was planning to publish one of the last 3 chapters on Halloween and this book was already near the end! But don't worry! I will still be active! Anyways have a great day/night!)
