"Did Father send you here to stalk me?" Haechan challenges instead, and his response catches me off-guard.

Father?

Before I could continue my train of thought, Mark kicks his roommate on his calf, but Haechan doesn't budge.

The detective sighs, and I don't miss the glimpse of annoyance that flashes across his irises. "Donghyuck, please."

"Do any of you kids happen to know anything about the drug?" This time, the other detective asks.

Mark tightens his hold on my hand, and for a moment I forget that our fingers are still intertwined. Though if it's to reassure me or himself, I'm not sure.

"Jaehyun, I got this," Haechan's acquaintance murmurs to his partner, and the man I now know as Jaehyun nods curtly before moving aside.

"They're with me." Haechan nods to us before the detective could say anything. "Are you really here because of the drug?"

"I'm a detective, Donghyuck. Contrary to your belief, I don't have time to follow you around like a lost puppy," the detective chides. "What I do want to know, however, is what you're hiding from me. You're saying you don't know anything about the drug, but why did I just find out that you're tailing Nakamoto Yuta?"

"Took you long enough to figure that out," Haechan scoffs, and by now, I still am unable to tell if their argument is plainly banter of if Haechan really, truly does have beef with this man— a government servant— who is probably five years older than us.

Considering it's Lee Haechan, I wouldn't put it past him.

The mention of Nakamoto Yuta does bring me back to the night at Mr. Seo's lab, when Haechan had managed to try to get a facial recognition scan of the gang leader due to someone 'owing him a favour'. Based on his conversation with this detective, I can only assume that he is the someone in question— the man named Doyoung.

I glance at Chaerin, who is looking at the tanned boy in confusion. Of course, she doesn't know that the three of us have been secretly working on the Neo Seoul case, and for a moment I fear that this might jeopardise Mark's identity as Spider-Man.

"We agreed for you to not ask me any questions," Haechan continues, and Doyoung rolls his eyes.

"Yes, but not if it involves my investigation! Gosh, Lee Donghyuck. You're a fucking handful."

"Haechan. Lee Haechan," Haechan corrects him. "Whatever. I'm going. Good luck with your investigation, or whatever," he murmurs before shoving the detective past his shoulder.

We follow suit, Mark giving Doyoung an apologetic smile as he drags me away from him.

"I better see you at dinner at home tonight, Lee Donghyuck!" The detective calls out from behind us.

Haechan doesn't bother to turn around to reply, only showing what I would now assume is his brother his middle finger.

"What the hell was that about? Who's Nokamata Yuta?" Chaerin doesn't waste time in interrogating Haechan, but he's not given the time to answer when Mark kicks the back of his knee.

"Is it so hard for you to treat your brother with some respect?"

"Step, brother." Haechan turns around to roll his eyes at us. "Psh. It's really creepy how much you idolise him, you know that?"

"He's a detective. I respect him," Mark argues.

"Is no one gonna tell me what's going on? Yena?" Chaerin stops walking as she awaits for my response expectantly. I wasn't expecting for her to throw the ball to me, and I glance at Haechan.
