A Cassarian Story
Varian always knew that he cared for Cassandra. But he didn't realize how much until she was gone.
Six long years after Cassandra leaves Corona, she finally returns. Varian is overjoyed, but she comes bearing terrible news. A stran...
"This is the most amazing story ever!" Opal exclaims.
"Awww, the part with you two in the cave?! So many details to this story that I've never heard!" Rapunzel coos. "You guys are adorable!"
Cassandra smiles sheepishly. "Honestly, Raps, knowing how you are... if you were there to recognize what I was feeling then, and to tell me what a clueless idiot I was being, Varian and I might have gotten together a lot sooner than we did." She slips her hand into Varian's, and he gives her a loving kiss on her cheek.
"Well, also knowing you, you probably would've completely denied everything and ignored me," Rapunzel teases. "You still don't listen to me, on occasion."
Cassandra rolls her eyes. "Alright, moving on." She turns back to her daughter and continues, "With the discovery of the second orb, we were about to make our way to the third one."
"But while we were waiting for the boat to arrive that would take us off the island," Varian adds, "A moment happened that would completely change things between your mother and me..."
A couple of days after the gang find the second orb, the time for the new moon is finally upon them. They gather up what few belongings they have with them, and patiently wait.
"Hey!" Misty says, waving as she swims up to the beach. "I wanted to come bid you farewell."
"Goodbye Misty," Hugo says with a flourish and a bow. "It's been a pleasure."
"Yeah, uh... thanks for all your help," Cassandra adds reluctantly.
"Maybe we'll meet again someday," Varian says, offering a small smile.
"Before I go, I have something..." Misty digs into the purse she has strapped to her side, and reveals a familiar device.

"My Truth Ray!" Varian says, his eyes lighting up at the sight of his invention. "But how...?"
"I have my ways," Misty replies as she hands the device to Varian. "I'm just sorry it was the only thing the Lorbs confiscated from you that I could retrieve."
Varian tucks the Truth Ray into his backpack. "Thanks, Misty."
"Oh, and this..." The mermaid tosses Cassandra's sword and sheathe onto the sand.
"Wha— You didn't have to..." Cassandra says.
"I know," Misty says.
After one final wave, Misty disappears beneath the sparkling waters.
"And now... we wait," Hugo says, shoving his hands into his pockets as he heads off on his own to pass the time.
