[21] INVITATION [21]

emma rubbed the back of her head "im sorry... i was supposed to send you an invitation per letter but i guess it kinda didn't arrive at your address so i had to call you"

i understand... that's because my official address is still at moms home.

"are there any rules i have to follow... a dress code, or anything like that?" i'm prepared for the worst. my school was pretty strict.

"nope, no dress code! just bring a bit money in case you want to but good or drinks, and you can bring 'friends'" she glared over at the haitanis table while saying that "how many?" i raised a brow at her.

"up to three people that didn't go to our school"

three people... perfect!

"but... can you at least tell me what to wear? are people going to wear regular clothes or like yukata?" "well... the guys are all coming in suits as far as i know, and most of the girls come in dresses" she mused.

"alright... i'll be there" i smiled at her.

"great!!! i'll send u the location since i have your phone number now... oh wait!" she grabbed into her bag and pulled something out.

she handed me the owl plushie "here! your plushie" "thank you" i smiled at her and took it into my arms "but it wasn't for me"

"really? was it a gift for... rindou?" she grinned once again "no! it was a friendly gift for the guy i told you about, which is not rindou!"

emma started laughing, i couldn't help but laugh as well.

she's really sweet... even tho she's only 14, she doesn't act 'childish', she seems like a very good person and friend.

we went back into the car.

"i know that you guys were stalking me!" i crossed my arms and leaned back.

"we weren't!... we wanted to order something..." ran mumbled while starting the car.

"so, i have need to share with you guys" "yea?"

"my school is holding a festival, and i'm allowed to bring 3 friends!" i put on a bright smile, i knew ran and rindou could see it from the mirror.

"it starts tomorrow at 7pm, i want you two and izana to come with me" "izana??? did you guys make up?" rindou quickly turned around to me with wide eyes.

"well... you could say so?... i guess we are friends again at least.. it doesn't matter, you guys are going to come with me and you'll help me to convince izana as well!"

"yea i mean, i'd love to join in... but do we have to get izana to?..." "come on, why would he say no? it's just for fun, and i'm not friends with anyone from my old school anymore so i need moral support"

and again.. they looked at each other with that look.

"okay, tell me what you're hiding from me" i crossed my arms and raised a brow at them.

"what are you taking about?" ran looked back onto the road. "ever since i've met emma you guys have always acted weird when something was about her... and you always look at each other like that, is there something about her that i don't know??"

they ignored my question and just drove home... i decided to drag them to izana's room and convince him to come with us tomorrow.

"y/n, let's just go without izana!" ran kept trying to hold me back but i didn't listen to him.

*knock knock knock*

"hm...?" a voice mumbled while the door opened, izana looked extremely tired and his hair was messy, as if he had just slept.

"hi" i smiled at him before pushing the haitanis inside and closing the door behind me.

"is it important?" izana yawned out and sat down onto his bed.

"my school is holding a festival tomorrow and i want you to come with me and the haitanis" i smiled at him.

"sure... but didn't you already graduate?" "well yea... a girl that i kinda became friends with earlier turned out to be helping with the festival, she was told to call a few people that graduated last year"

"alright, sure i'll come with you" "great! i bet you'll like emma"

i heard ran gulping behind me, i found it weird.

"emma?" izana's mood immediately changed, he looked at the brothers with a mad expression.

"okay.. i'll go, can you leave me a moment with the haitanis?" izana forced himself to smile at me, i just silently nodded and left the room

— izana's pov —

"look, maybe it's just a coincidence, a lot of people are named emma, you know?" ran tried to excuse himself, means he definetly knew about this for longer.

"not in japan" i sighed out "what's her last name?"

"okay, look man i'm sorry, the day she went outside and was brought home by strangers, she was brought to the sano residence... but how were we supposed to prevent that?"

that got me even more mad.

"you let her befriend emma? why don't you guys pay attention who she meets up with? why did you allow her to go see emma again?" ran put his hands up in defense "aye, i can't control who she meets up with!"

"why did you agree to go? wouldn't it be better to stay away?" rindou mused, his arms were crossed and he was leaned against a wall... he honestly seemed way too chilled.

"i don't want y/n to get suspicious... i have a plan and y/n being friends with emma could really make it hard.. i'll go to the festival and try not to face emma"

"how long has it been since you saw her?" ran questioned, i threw myself onto the bed.

"few years... she wouldn't recognise me, she was way too young to remember me that well anyway.. but it's more secure to not face her"

suddenly the room was filled with silence.

"alright, go, i want to take a nap!"

they quickly rushed out of the room, i let out a loud groan - this is extremely bothering me! i can't risk y/n getting attached to emma, i don't want her to lose another loved one.

i'd feel extremely guilty...

(i know the recent chapters have been a bit shorter, the next chapters are going to be longer, i promise 😭 there's going to be a lot happening and i want to part it logically)
