Once Peggy began to grow tired you and Steve began to make your way out. But not before Peggy had one last piece of advice for Steve.

"Steve, don't forget you are able to be selfish from time to time, you're going to be building a life with Y/N now. Something that will last longer than your avenging so makes sure it's a priority" Peggy tells him.

"Of course, I will, don't worry about that" Steve says smiling over at you.

Paris lived up to its name of the city of love. One of your first stops in the city was to the Louvre. You walked around hand in hand, Steve giving you the guided tour. His knowledge of art history blew you away. You couldn't help but smile watching him, he was a natural at it.

"You could do this for a living," you tell him as you walked through the exhibits.

"Hmm?" He asks tearing his eyes away from the painting he was looking at.

"When we stop Avenging and all that, you should do something like this, work in an art gallery or art teacher, you know so much about all this" you explain gesturing around.

"Yeah, I do really enjoy it," Steve says smiling to himself.

"You're a good teacher too, I've learnt so much during this tour," you tell him.

"Are you sure you don't just want to see me in suits more often" Steve smirks knowingly.

"That's just an added bonus," you say.

Steve laughs throwing his arm around your shoulder and pulling you closer, kissing the top of your head.

"I'll make a mental note of that" he smiles.

Once you left the Louvre you and Steve made your way around the city visiting as many sights as you could. You even stopped and had a picnic at the bottom of the Eiffel tower. You sat tucked into Steve's side as the two of you snacked on fresh fruit, French cheeses and pastries.

That evening you made your way back to the Eiffel tower illuminations. Steve wrapped his arms around you, your back pressed against his back. Even though he loved watching the tower light up, he was loving watching you instead.

Once the show was done you turned around in his arms to face him. Hands ran up his chest to his shoulders and neck. He smiled down at you, hand resting on your hips.

"What did you think?" You asked smiling up at him.

"It was nice, but my view of you was better" He smirked.

"We didn't come all this way for you to stare at me all the time" you laugh shaking your head at him.

"Really? I thought that was the whole purpose of this trip" he smirked leaning down and kissing you.

You smile into the kiss as he tips you back.

The next day on your way to Brussels you stopped off at a war memorial. You held Steve's hand as you walked around the memorial in silence. Occasionally Steve would stop in front of a grave to read the inscription. When you stopped in front of the large memorial, Steve took a deep and shaky breath. You took a step closer to him your free hand moving to his arm. You also stroked his hand with your thumb.

"You okay?" You ask him quietly.

He nods gently before wrapping his arm around you "I think so, I didn't recognise any names, don't know if that's a good thing or not"

He sighs to himself shaking his head, a wave of guilt crashing over him. All of these people laid down their lives, some of them barely adults. Had their whole lives ahead of them. While he was lucky he got his second chance at life, especially with you, he couldn't help but feel guilty that he survived and they didn't.
