My face was swollen, I had a black eye and I was covered head to toe with purple bruses on my pale skin. My skin felt so fragile that the fabric from my close was even causing me pain.
I managed to cover most of my bruses on my face with makeup. Since I started getting these beatings from my father, I decided that a makup kit would be a good investment. One thing I was not able to cover up was my black eye.
After dressing with soft fabric clothes I made my way downstairs, skipping my nonexistent breakfast. Before I made my way to the door I was unfortunately stopped by mother. I internally groaned not having time for her bullshit this morning.
She violently grabbed my face so she could have a better look. "Your face is a mess." She said bluntly.
I glared at her but said nothing in response.
"If anyone asks, you got into a fight on your way from school yesterday." She said turning around and heading up the stairs.
I really did have the worst parents in existence, I thought to myself as I limped my way to the yard to get my bike.
After a long, slow, and painful ride to school I finally arrived. I ensured to keep my head down when walking in the halls so that I would not attract any attention. Not that anyone would care anyway if they saw me like this.
The bell had rung and I was now in my maths class. "So now everyone I'm going to be collecting the homework I gave you'll yesterday, so put it on your desk I'm going to pass around to get it." The teacher said.
"Shit." I cursed under my breath. Last night I was too broken to do my homework and now I might be getting in trouble.
After going around the class collecting various homework assignments, it was finally my turn. "Kai, where is your homework?" she asked placing her hands on her waist.
I looked up at her and it seemed as though worry immediately filled her facial expressions when she saw my face.
"I didn't have time to finish it last night." I told her.
"See me after class." she said walking away.
After barely paying attention for the rest of the class it was finally over, and as instructed, I stayed behind.
When I approached the teacher, she looked at me as if she was trying to figure out why I had stayed back.
"Oh right." She said. "So Kai because you didn't do your homework I'm going to have to give you detention on staurday afternoon. Make sure you don't miss it." She said already dismissing me.I just sighed and nodded, already knowing that this will cause me to get in trouble with my parents once again.
After some more boring classes it was finally lunch. Hooray! I get to be in a cafeteria filled with loud and annoying teenagers. Just perfect.
I got on the line and got what was supposed to be lasagna and took my usual empty table in the far corner and started eating.
I noticed that Damien and his crew had entered the room and for some reason I couldn't take my eyes off of the handsome guy known as Damien Beckett.
Then the unthinkable happened. He locked eyes with me for a split second then quickly altered his gaze.
Did Damien just look at me? Wow I should pinch myself cause I must be dreaming. There are many girls that would want to want to be in my place, just for Damien to look at them.
When I looked back to see where Damien was, he was already sitting at his table or 'the popular table' as people like to call it.
He was wearing a black skinny jeans with a white t-shirt tucked inside and a plaid flannel over it. The guy looked really good.
