"Thank you Phil. For everything." I said quietly into his ear.
"Of course." He whispered back, then pulled away and took his spot in the lineup.Carly was my maid of honour and Phil was Dan's best man, so they would be walking down the isle together, just in front of me.
I saw Phil grab Carly's hand, and he leaned over and kissed her cheek, making her blush slightly.
I felt myself smile while looking at them.
'So that's who Philly's seeing.'
I thought and smiled again.Nathan took my hand again.
"You ready?" He smiled up at me. Nathan was going to be walking me down the isle, instead of my dad.
"As ready as I'll ever be." I smiled down at him and squeezed his hand in return.Soon enough, the doors leading into the hall opened up, and the first to walk through were Zoe and Chris. They were followed by Carrie and PJ, then Carly and Phil. Then it was my turn.
Nathan held my hand the whole time, which I was grateful for. I think I might've fallen over from being so nervous.
'Don't trip. Don't trip. Don't trip.'
I looked up to see Dan standing at the end of the walkway, hands in front of him, and I could see his eyes watering slightly.
'Don't trip. Don't trip. Don't trip.'
I managed to get up to Dan without completly embarassing myself in front of a hundred people.
Nathan stopped just in front of Dan. I crouched down a little so Nathan could lift up my veil, and he did, before springing himself into my arms and giving me a big hug. I smiled and hugged him back tightly, then stood up.
Dan shook Nathan's hand and smiled down at him, then Nathan sat down beside my mom.
Dan took my hands and smiled at me before brushing away a few tears on his cheeks.
"You look absolutely beautiful." He whispered to me as we walked up towards the officiant. I squeezed his hand and smiled up at him in response.
We stood in front of the officiant, facing eachother and holding hands. He started the ceremony.
"Today, we have come together to witness the joining of these two lives. For them, out of the routine of ordinary life, the extraordinary happened. They met each other, fell in love, and are finalizing it with their wedding today."
I could barely hear him over the sound of my heart beating out of my chest.
'Relax, (y/n). It's just you and Dan. Focus on him.'
I reminded myself of Phil's words from earlier, and looked up at Dan. He looked down and smiled sweetly at me, and I smiled back lovingly at him.
I almost forgot about everyone else, I just focused on Dan's eyes."A good marriage must be created. In marriage, the 'little' things are the big things.
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say 'I love you' atleast once a day.
It is standing together and facing the world.
It is not only marrying the right person, -- it is being the right partner.""May I ask who has the rings?" The officiant turned around. Phil took a step froward and handed them to him, and the man turned back towards Dan and I.
He handed me Dan's wedding ring and I slipped it onto his left hand, and Dan did the same for me.
The officiant turned and faced me.
"(Y/n), do you take Dan to be your lawfully wedded husband? Do you promise to love, honour, cherish and protect him, forsaking all others and holding only onto him forevermore?"
