"I'll give him a real reason to cry." Milly said as she cracked her knuckles.
Jake let out a whimper, "Will you just be quiet?! Stop pretending that you are the one that has been hurt you're just a heartless bully!" Zander snapped glaring down at Jake in disgust.
Jake seemed to be trapped in his own mind, the painful memories of Middle School clouding his thoughts.
"Freak!"
"What a freak!"
"You're so useless!"
"You're nothing!"
"Just give up!"
"Cry loser, cry!""We are talking to you jerk!" Zander screeched.
"Are you even listening? You don't know anything about the pain we have felt over the years! You don't belong here!" Hailey snapped, her glare piercing through Jake as the blond looked up at her with exhausted and pained eyes that were filled to the brim with tears.
"You will NEVER be one of us!" Hailey spat out, her voice dripping with venom, "No wonder Lilac was your only friend." The teal haired girl muttered, her eyes filled with disgust.
Jake felt like an arrow had pierced his heart. Hailey was right he didn't belong not in the club not anywhere, it was clear from the start that he was nothing, his bullies were right.
Lilac's mouth hung open, her eyes filled with disbelief. Did Hailey really say that after everything she knew? She could tell the club had continued to lecture Jake, but she blocked their voices out.
Lilac furrowed her brows and narrowed her eyes as she flung herself in front of Jake, her blue eyes blazing like blue twin flames, "Enough!" She yelled, holding her arms out to her side.
Zander glared at her, "Lilac, what are you doing?" He demanded.
The rest of the club were staring wide eyed at Lilac as she glared at every one of the club members.
"What is wrong with all of you?!" Lilac demanded.
Zander and Hailey exchanged glances, "Lilac, why are you defending that jerk?" Hailey demanded.
Lilac's pupils narrowed, clenching her jaw, "Hasn't he been through enough already!?" The navy teen demanded.
Milly blinked angrily, "What are you talking about? He's never had to deal with being bullied all because of your interests."
Lilac stared at her, her expression unreadable, "That's where you're wrong." Lilac said coldly.
Zander scoffed, "Then go ahead Lilac Moonshine, tell us all of the pain the perfect Jake Sterling had to go through."
Lilac took a step forwards and gave Zander a bitter smirk, "With pleaser."
Lilac started pacing back in forth as she spoke, "You might think that Jake is nothing but a bully, but I've known him a lot longer than any of you have. For instance, were you aware that Jake got bullied for the same reason that you all did?" She paused and stared around the room, the club stayed silent. Zander was about to say something but was stopped by Hailey.
Lilac put her fists on her hips, "Unlike you, Jake didn't have a supportive friend group. He had to endure years of bullying, and it wasn't just teasing either Jake was physically bullied. I witnessed him getting pushed into lockers, and get beaten up by his bullies. They always went too far when they teased him, they called him worthless, a waste of space, music freak, nothing."
Lilac clenched her fists, blinking away tears as she thought of all the torment her best friend used to face, "No one cared enough to do anything to stop them, except me!" She snapped, pointing at herself.
The club was speechless, even Zander didn't know what to say which was a first, but Lilac wasn't done yet.
Meanwhile Jake had managed to get to his feet and stand next to Lilac, his face was still stained with tears and a few new ones would occasionally escape his eyes.
"But then we joined your club, but that was a mistake!" Lilac yelled, catching the club off guard. "Both me and Jake finally felt that we belonged somewhere, you made us feel loved you made us feel wanted." Lilac's gaze hardened, "But you only cared about what you could get out of us!"
Luke was the first to speak, "Lilac, you know that's not true!" The brunette yelled out desperately.
Lilac scoffed, "Do I? Because to me it seems that all you wanted from us was to use our talent for your own gain!"
A single tear slipped down Lilac's cheek, "Do you know what it's like to watch both of your friend groups who you love with all your heart fight over you like some object?" The navy haired teen spat.
Jake narrowed his eyes as he wiped some stray tears from his eyes.
Hailey put her hands together, "If this is true, why didn't you say anything?" The teal haired girl demanded, causing the others to stare at Lilac and Jake expectantly.
"We did try to tell you." Jake whispered.
"But you never listen to us!" The two best friends yelled, tears steaming from their eyes.
Hailey held her hand over her mouth, Milly's eyes were wide along with Luke's, Sean stood still with his eyes shining with disbelief, Zander's expression was impossible to read.
Jake choked back a sob, "All I wanted was to find a place where I belonged, I just wanted to be your friend. I swear I didn't mean a word I said, I really meant it when I said those guys set me up." A few tears fell from the blond's hazel eyes, "But now I see that I'm nothing but a bully in your eyes."
Jake took one last tearful glance at the club before he ran out of the music room with tears streaming behind him.
Lilac glared at the club one last time before she slowly walked over to the door and put her hand on the door knob.
"Lilac, you aren't really leaving the club right?" Hailey asked.
Lilac turned her head to glare at the teal haired girl, "I don't want to be in a club with people who treat me like an object and drop me after I make a mistake." She hissed.
"Oh and by the way, Jake was telling the truth when he said the jomies manipulated him." She said through clenched teeth.
Lilac glared daggers at the entire club, "You want to be good friends? Good friends actually listen." With that Lilac opened the door and slammed it behind her leaving the club members in shock and Hailey staring at the door filled with guilt.
