"Please be honest Erik, this was a serious question, nothing to joke-"

"I am being honest Helen, I was thinking about you"

My face expression softens as Erik takes my hand that still was placed on his knee into his own and rubs circles onto the back of it.

"Why?" I whisper, my thoughts spinning as his gorgeous eyes seem to take me in completely.

"Because I-I-" Erik cuts himself off and shrugs his shoulders helplessly, "it's hard to explain"

"Try it, I guess we have plenty of time" I smile softly and feel my heart beating faster as he returns the gesture.

"Alright"

Erik shifts on his seat rather nervously, still keeping his hand intertwined with mine.

"Do you still remember the time we first met?"

I tilt my head to the left as I think hardly about it before nodding slowly.

"At that bar when we were invited for the event"

Erik's whole face lights up as he nods eagerly, he probably didn't expect me to still remember the moment when our eyes locked for the first time.

"And from that very moment on I felt that you-"

"Helen Winter, is Miss Helen Winter here?"

I immediately turn my head into the opposite direction, spotting a nurse coming down the floor.

"I am Helen Winter" I say, sending her a polite smile.

"Your friend Lauren Steg has awoken and she asked for you"

A mixture of several feelings build up in my stomach; worry, happiness and guilt at the same time.

"I will come" I tell the nurse immediately and send Erik an apologetic look, "we can continue afterwards alright?"

Sadness and disappointment reflects in Erik's eyes but he forces a smile onto his lips and gives me a small nod before the nurse guides me to Lauren's room.

The walk seems almost endlessly but as we finally arrive at the door, I don't even bother to wait but burst into the room and hurry over to my best friend, pulling her into a tight hug.

"I have been so sick worried about you du Hure, never shock me like this again, understood?"

Lauren looks pretty tired but she grins anyways as I call her a hoe, giving me a thumbs up.

"I don't plan on doing that again golum, I promise"

I can't help but laugh and hug her over again, at least she hasn't lost her good sense of humor.

"I need to talk to my best friend in private real quick, could you please leave us alone for some minutes?" I ask the nurse and she nods briefly, exiting the room.

"What's up?" Lauren seems curious as I take off my shoes and climb into the hospital bed next to her.

"You won't believe whom I met here"

"Tell me!" my best friend says excited, grabbing my hand.

"Erik Durm and Marco Reus"

Lauren gasps, her eyes widening as she stares at me in shock.

"No way, you've got to be kidding me!"

"I am not" I shake my head, "but we are all on good terms again, Marco apologized and told me the whole truth and told me that I was important to him"

My best friend's mouth shapes into an O as she continues staring at me like I was just telling her about how I talked to an alien earlier.

"And Erik was just in the middle of telling me that he liked me too I think, but then the nurse came and brought me here"

"What did he say?" Lauren asks excited, wiggling her eyebrows and causing me to laugh.

"He told me that he was thinking about me and if I remember how we met for the first time and just as he was about to say something deeply, the nurse came"

A short, but comfortable silence falls over us as Lauren seems to think hardly what isn't exactly good for her after hitting her head on a freaking McDonald's table.

"Who do you prefer Helen, Marco or Erik?"

I give her an helpless look as I shrug my shoulders desperately.

"You do know that you will have to decide on one or neither of them on one point, you can't keep on running from one to the other"

I nod briefly as a heavy sigh escapes my lips.

"It's tougher than it sounds Lauren, they both mean much to me and I only realized it again today"

"How do you feel around the two?" my best friend asks and studies my face closely.

A small smile erupts my lips as I think about the two Dortmund players.

"Erik is so sweet and always worried about me, he doesn't want anyone to hurt me and tried to protect me from Marco earlier. With Marco, it's so different. One moment, we fight each other and in the other I lie in his arms and feel so... protected"

Lauren listens closely, taking every word in before shrugging her shoulders.

"I would recommend talking to both of them again and then I would try to have some time alone to figure out who fits better to you"

"You are right, thank you Lauren, I love you"

I hug her tightly before putting on my shoes again and leaving the room after waving one last time.

The first to talk to is definitely Erik.

Walking down the floor casually, I notice after a few moments that the chairs infront of Marco's room are empty and Erik is nowhere to be seen.

I swallow heavily as I glance around myself but can't catch a glimpse of the football player anywhere.

That means I have to start off with Marco.

Taking one last deep breath, I knock on Marco's door and enter the room as soon as I hear his hoarse, sexy voice yelling 'Come in!'.
